THE MERCY OF GOD

TEXT: Lamentation 3:22-23, Matthew 5:7, Proverbs 28:13, Isaiah 30:18, Deuteronomy 7:9, James 2:13, Ephesians 4:32.
The mercy of God is very important in our lives and it is only God’s mercy that can take us far in life. God’s mercy denotes forgiveness, kindness and divine compassion. It proves God’s love for us and retaining His punishment. And we can obtain God’s mercy through different ways.
In Lamentation 3:22-23; it is written that it is by the mercy of God that we are not consumed, we are still alive and still moving forward because the compassion of God never fails, He is great God. And God’s mercy is new every morning, every day, every second and great is His faithfulness.

Matthew 5:7; it is written that blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy. It is only when In you forgive those that hurt you, have a free mind and let things go, that God in heaven will forgive you your sins.
In Proverbs 28:13; it is written that he that covereth his sin will not prosper. When you pretend and act like you haven’t sinned or offended God, you will never receive the mercy of God and you will never prosper. But when you confess your sins to God, admit that you have sinned, ask for the mercy of God, then God will show you mercy.

In Isaiah 30:18; it is written that therefore will the lord wait, that he maybe gracious unto you and therefore be exalted. it simply means that God is waiting for you to confess your sins to Him, to give your life to Him, god is a patient GOD, and He will show you everlasting mercy. for the lord is a God of judgement, it is only God that has the right to judge people and those that wait upon the lord will receive God’s abundant blessings.

In Deuteronomy 7:9; it is written that God is a faithful God and He keeps covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep His commandment to a thousand generation. It simply means God is covenant keeping God and a merciful father, He will never forsake His people, He will never forsake those that love him and keep His commandment.

In conclusion God’s mercy is compassion, kindness and love, for us to obtain God’s mercy, we must learn to forgive those that have offended us, we must confess our sins to God and acknowledge God always.
