I was humbled!
Let me share with you a bible verse to start the blog off on the right foot...
A few people might be scratching their head....What does that even mean?
Hey, I read the King James Version lol And yeah, I admit when you first read certain verses in the bible it can be confusing. So here's what the NIV says...
Still need a nudge?
Basically, anyone in the world or not religious will not accept the bible and all it's truths. They will throw it under the bus, laugh at it and disregard it completely. But those of us that do accept it, accept it all.
Funny note, this was written about 2000 years ago, almost like....The bible could tell the future?
Anywho....
The point of this quote is to highlight a wee bit of pride I have stirring in my heart which is not good at all.
The verse says, the bible is a gift to us. It should be cherished and we should treasure every passage of Scripture we can. And we should know this stuff....
Urgh.
I'm a bible believing Christian right? I know everything about God!!!!
I can proof-text to prove my point with the best of them!!!!!
Pride goeth before destruction ;)
You see, I still love learning everything I can about the Lord. And tonight I was reminded about how little I actually did know. I was poking around some Christian web sites and reading some articles / essays about my faith and guess what?
There was a bunch of points that I had never heard before. And every nugget was confirmed through Scripture.
Amazing huh?
I didn't 'know it all'. And what my next realization was is that this is true sanctification. It's a life long journey with Christ. And we aren't supposed to know it all...Wanna know why?
We aren't God.
Seems like such a simple statement and most religious people around the globe will agree with it, however when we parade around claiming to know it all....We are in fact, putting ourselves on the throne.
We like to debate and argue with everyone that doesn't agree with us, because we know the truth! But do we know the whole truth? I need to make sure I ask myself that every time I wanna proof text with someone. Humble myself. Be a sponge to soak up as much righteousness as I can, without letting the flesh get in the way of.....the Spirit!
But here's something to meditate on as well....
Don't worry if you don't know it all when it comes to this God stuff. We have a promise of eternal life. Which means we will have plenty of time to figure it all out.....And that might not even be enough time :)

Christianity also brings a crisis. Religion or deeds?
What does spirit mean here? I think we already have it in the holy books.
Oh that's a big one :)
For me, the Spirit is co-eternal with the Father and the Son. I'm a believer in the Godhead or Trinity as it's called. And the Spirit plays a big role in how the bible was inspired.
One of the websites I was poking around on this evening which I mentioned in the blog, had this infographic on it which explains the trinity...As best as human minds can understand lol

We cannot know everything about God because there will be new pages to open about him everyday and we continue to learn more about him
