Well, that was not only meeting with friends, as all those friends are also "photo-heads" :)
What I like the most about such gatherings is, actually are a few things. Among the usual stuff, like the weather, the health, work, etc., we also talk a lot about Photography. The other huge aspect I like is that the most of those friends of mine don't mind being photographed.
Even when the light conditions suck. Like this particular dinner at a low lighted resto with old but cozy furniture and ambience ;)

I wish I could join you at those meetups, looks great and I can imagine there must have been a lot of chat about some very interesting photos. Do you have a rule where photos are presented as prints only? What printers do you use?

Actually, no such rules are set it was a meetup where someone brought lots of printed photos that we discussed. I used to have an Epson printer but now I rely only on print services as they provide better price/quality ratio ;)
I bought a Canon Pro 1000 a few years back and it is superb but would I recommend everyone buy one? Probably not, I don't use it enough but it's ouput is amazing, we've got some of the prints up on the wall, plus family have been gifted some prints too. I bought it at a time I was planning to use it more in a professional capacity.
Must have been a nice thing to see though, the prints, laying them out on the table and browsing through them all :-)
