Hello to all friends of Splinterlands!!!

Melee attack monsters are quite interesting; they usually have very high attack values compared to mana cost, and there is a vast selection of them in Splinterlands, from the first Alpha edition to the new Rebellion edition. However, as we know by now, the major limitation of melee cards is that they can only attack from the first position unless they have 3 particular abilities: Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity.

If you have worked well over the years and built up a very extensive collection of cards, you can overcome these difficulties, as we will see in this week's Battle Mage Secrets Challenge!!!

Fog of War.png

Fog of War: with this ruleset, no monster can have the 3 abilities I mentioned earlier, namely Sneak, Snipe, and Opportunity. So it would seem that the only solution is to deploy only one melee card, in the Tank position, and all other spots on the team will be occupied by ranged or magic monsters.

However, there can also be different strategies, such as using monsters without attack.

Here is the link to the battle I want to show you:

And these are the game rules:

A very high Mana Cap of 53, with two other rulesets, besides Fog of War, namely Up to Eleven, which grants the Amplify ability to all monsters on the field, and the new Five Alive, which we talked about in last week's Battle Mage Secrets Challenge.

And here is the battlefield:

I preferred a type of team that was once very successful but is now a bit less fashionable, with Obsidian as the summoner, and in the Tank position the strong melee card Grund, with its Double Strike, followed by Mycelic Slipspawn, Runemancer Florre, Mushroom Seer, and Goblin Psychic.

My opponent, on the other hand, chose a more modern team, with Kelya Frendul as the summoner, and in the first position the new card Rebellion, without attack, named Ulundin Overseer, followed by Coastal Sentry, Djinn Oshannus, Swamp Spitter, and Supply Runner.

It was a tough defeat for me; I tried a very linear and traditional strategy, while my opponent had a much more creative approach, especially by deploying Ulundin Overseer as a sacrificial card to take hits in the first position, saving the other teammates, while my selection was a bit lacking in Health and Armor points and couldn't withstand the opponent's hits until the inevitable final defeat in the 5th round.

Fog of War.png

ruleset.jpg

Un Mana Cap molto alto di 53, con altri due ruleset, oltre a Fog of War, ovvero Up to Eleven , che dona l'abilità Amplify a tutti i mostri in campo, e la nuova Five Alive, di cui abbiamo parlato nel Battle Mage Secrets Challenge della scorsa settimana.

Ed ecco il campo di battaglia:

battlefield.jpg
