My air conditioner started leaking water into the living room a few days ago, and as soon as I noticed it, I knew there was a problem. Getting someone to fix it would cost money, which I do not have right now.
However, it was extremely hot, and being without an AC unit could result in a serious heat stroke. So I looked online to see what the problem was and found a variety of reasons, after which I watched a few YouTube videos.
Then, after watching them, I decided to open the AC unit myself. I was aware that any wrong turn could ruin my AC, but I watched a few videos, followed the instructions, and when I was finished, I closed it again, and the water stopped dripping into the living room.
Now I don't know if I've actually fixed it or if I bought myself some time before I'll need to call the technician, but I'll take some time if that's eventually what I've bought. In life, we cannot all be equally privileged, but we can push ourselves to do things we cannot.
Sometimes life makes us believe that being rigid is the best way to stay safe. Sometimes people would rather have someone else "teach" the team than give themselves exploratory opportunities to see if they can actually exceed the limit that they are not supposed to reach.
It simply means that we are designed to be capable of things we cannot imagine, but because we cannot imagine ourselves pushing to the edge, we frequently prefer the safety of ignorance over the uncertainty that comes with taking a chance.
Privileged by default or experience?
Some people are privileged, either naturally or through experience. A doctor, for example, is privileged to have knowledge of human anatomy as well as medical knowledge, which is why they are paid.
However, just because they are doctors does not preclude them from making mistakes.
There are people who push themselves to understand their health conditions, and most of the time they push themselves to the brink in order to gain knowledge that the doctor may not have learned in medical school.
Some people go on to become their own doctors, not because the process was easy, but because education, knowledge, awareness, and experience are likely the only ways they can advocate for themselves and live better lives.
Knowledge is not meant to be rigid
Privileges are unfair advantages that others may have that we do not, and these privileges can separate them by a long distance.
For example, some people were privileged and had the opportunity to purchase one BTC for $200; however, being privileged does not imply that they were knowledgeable.
These people will most likely be the most unfortunate, because they had the opportunity but lacked the awareness and knowledge to take advantage of it. Perhaps they had people say things like "Are you serious?" "So you want to gamble your life away?"
However It turns out that BTC was not a gamble, because ten years later, this generation now has access to technical analysis, market precedents, AI tools, and a plethora of other resources for understanding how the market works.
However, current privileges do not guarantee that people will become rich. Many people will continue to say things like "crypto is a gamble" or "there will no longer be alt season", which is how Hive could be 20$ or BTC one million dollars, and future generations will blame this generation for abusing the privilege we currently have.
Filling "BIG" Shoes
Some people frequently blame the children of wealthy people for misbehaving and acting irresponsibly. They will say things like, "If I had the privilege you have, I would never abuse it."
Unfortunately, if most people had the same privilege as others, they would abuse it as well. It is in our DNA to underappreciate or underutilize what we have, and this is because we rarely value what we have because we believe we already own it.
Value In A Valuable Place
Recently, I have been paying attention to a specific behavioral pattern on Hive, and it hurts to see users abusing the opportunity they had by default simply because they were chasing a meme coin that was pumping, or simply because BTC was moving and alts were doing nothing at the time.
Hive is a privilege that we all have, but that many people do not recognize as such. For example, paying high fees on the Ethereum Blockchain makes me appreciate this place even more, and creating opportunities with people that have transcended into real life makes me appreciate the authenticity that comes with it.
However, when people are granted privileges by default and become accustomed to them, they are more likely to abuse them.
For example....
I have been underprivileged my entire life.
Sometimes I need someone to move my fridge, someone to care for me when I am sick, or someone to do an extra-demanding job, and not having some of these privileges makes me appreciate those who do.
However, not having them is not a complete loss for me. For example, a person who loses their sense of touch or sight adapts and masters other senses in order to compensate for the ones they have lost.
This is how people can create their own privileges. Knowing and understanding that you have no choice, that it is either fight or die, be creative or get messed up, find ways to thrive or risk extinction.

Greetings @josediccus ,
Hope you are feeling better.
Appreciate reading this well written post regarding creating your own privilege.
Here's hoping your Air Conditioner will no longer leak....quite lovely to have been able to fix something like an AC.
Kind Regards,
Bleujay
Haha well I wouldn't know if I fixed it. I want to wait for a few days or even weeks, however if it can stay for a few months it means I have successfully done a rather good fix that would have cost me money lol.
Thanks a million for your kind words and support, I appreciate it.
In this crazy world of ours you have to make your own way, and make your own privileges. Nothing comes for free, all the education in the world doesn't make you any more special than anyone else. It would be nice to have a "fairer" world, but humans are too greedy to ever let that happen. Great post!

Yes, indeed. As unfair as it sounds that's the only way. Now it gets disappointing to be underprivileged, I mean, we live in a world where you can explain some phenomena, but that's it. It's either you adapt or risk it.
Indeed, people are greedy, I guess if we can somehow tone down on the greed, perhaps life could be a lot better
It would be, I agree. I finally got the last Quora to reach level 3, look at this crazy pull!
That's gotta the biggest pull I've ever seen in a long time. I mean I opened over 20 packs and got only only about 3 epics from opening 20 packs, no legendary, a few rares and nothing special. This is nice, congratulations to you
A first for me that's for sure. I managed to level up not only Quora but the legendary too!
For me that's one sure way to realise our full potential. Pushing ourselves to the limits. By doing this we do things we never thought possible. Sometimes the difference between mediocre and genius is pushing the limits. Not many people understand this.
Yeah you're right. However it's not always easy to push. This is probably why some people will choose to not do so. It's challenging and well, challenges can be stressful.

Thanks a million
A pleasure 🙃

Sometimes, pushing ourselves beyond our original limit, leaving our comfort zone and going that extra mile helps us unlock our full potential.
Also lack can also make us improvise, and innovation often arises from necessity.
Yeah, being in lack can make us creative: do better, be craftier or find ways in places we wouldn't be able to do. Well lack might not be good, but it pushes people to the wall.
I think we've created this privilege for ourselves, as early adopters who kept learning. And it is a privilege compared to people who are on the sidelines and still look at crypto with distrust, because we have a good head start. But as you said about the early bitcoiners, they may have lost the big opportunities they had by not understanding where this would go. And we don't have to judge them harshly, we have the benefit of the hindsight. We may have done and maybe will do some of their mistakes too. Hopefully not, but who knows?
I feel that even if it seems we're privileged to have all the information we have about crypto I just think that many of us will still manage to mess it up.
It's not really trying to judge, I think I'm just trying to analyze our psychological state of making the right or wrong decisions as humans.
This is why I think the future generations will wish they had the opportunity we currently have, not knowing we also wished to have the opportunity the past generation had.
You have to make do with what you have. Sometimes it just doesn't work out, but I honestly wouldn't try to mess with an A/C unit. At least it isn't leaking, but I hope you are able to get it fixed properly.
Turned out it needed some cleaning and I followed the videos I watched and now it stopped leaking. Hopefully it wouldn't leak for a while before I get some cash to get it fixed
Your words and analysis profound me a lot. Truly, we have to explore and trust on ourselves more to be more happy and better ourselves.
Opportunities abound, better to utilize them and never being skeptical about anything. Surely a way up.
Thanks so much. I'm your silent follower and adherent
