If the recovery account is changed isnt there a time period for the new recovery account to be active, or it is instant?

It takes 30 days to change the recovery account, I reread and edited the part of the post because the way I had written it seemed that the change was instantaneous. Thanks for your question that pointed out what I had written.

If I had noticed the transaction of the recovery change I could have warned him and in that case I could have helped him to change the master password from another pc but I didn't see it at all unfortunately...
