My Game Activity and Progress in Modern Format & Wild Format
7 days after Conclave Arcana Set Release!
On Splinterlands, in Ranked Play, season 159 is underway, which is the first season in which the new Arcana Conclave cards can be used.
In fact, on May 13, 2025 the Conclave Arcana General Sale began, which produced:
- the ability to open packs of the Conclave Arcana set.
- the exit of the Chaos Legion and Riftwatchers cards from the Modern Format.
- the introduction of 82 new cards to which more cards will be added (Conflicts and next initiatives)
- the introduction of 11 new abilities
- three new card foils (Gold Foil Arcane, Black Foil and Black Foil Arcane).
The change that had the most impact on my gaming activity was the exit of the Chaos Legion set cards from Modern Format.
In fact before the release of the new set of cards I was playing with two accounts in the Modern Format.
Now that I can no longer use my Chaos Legion cards in my favorite format:
- I continue to play manually and continue to have fun in Modern Format with my main account (libertycrypto27)
- I have delegated my Chaos Legion cards to my curation account for SPT tokens (libertygame27) and have also returned to play in the Wild Format where, however, I do not play manually but use XBOT.
In this post I share my gaming activity and progress in the two formats of ranked play after 7 days since the release of the new set and the exit of Chaos Legion cards from Modern Format.
My game activity and progress in Modern Format

Before the release of the new set of cards, when I could use my Chaos legion cards in the Modern Format, I had 9 maximum level Archons (summoners) and 6 maximum level Archons from the Gladiator set available.
Now in the Monder Format I can only use 1 maximum level legendary Archon (Akane), 1 level 4 common Archon and 5 level 1 summoners.
My battle strength in Modern Format has decreased a lot even considering Unit cards because in my Chaos Legion set card collection I have:
- 24 maximum level legendary cards
- 13 maximum level epic cards
- 29 maximum level rare cards
- 24 maximum level common cards
Despite having few maximum level cards to use in Modern Format my game results in the current season have been better (or less worse) than I expected.
In fact, even though I have only played 37 battles in the current season, my win rate is 50% and I am in the Diamond III league.
So far my win rate is slightly lower than the win rate I got in the previous season using my Chaos legion and Riftwatchers cards.
It is still early to make assessments but my impression is that many players in Modern Format are in the same situation as me and, like me, do not have a very strong card collection and are in the process of building a new competitive collection in Modern Format.
My Arcana Conclave card collection consists of 178 cards = 186 BCX.
I found these cards inside 10 standar packs and 27 starter packs plus 1 promo card I received for participating in the presale.
To increase the number of Arcana Conclave cards in my possession today I purchased 27 more starter packs.
I made this choice for three reasons:
- I need more cards to have more choices in battle, and starter packs have a low purchase cost even though only common and rare cards can be found.
- I especially need to increase the level of the Archons in my possession that are rare cards and therefore findable in the starter packs.
- starter packs have an estimated value above the purchase cost based on the calculation found in the Pack Stats section of Peakmonsters.

In my next posts I will show my progress in upgrading the Arcana Conclave cards but now I will show you my partial results in the current season in the Wild Format.
My game activity and progress in the Wild Format
My Chaos Legion cards can no longer be useful to me in Modern Format but in Wild Format are showing very useful because after 4 game sessions played by XBOT they allowed me to advance three leagues: Gold I -> Diamond I
In the current season it was not necessary to buy Wild Pass but from next season it will be necessary to spend 2000 DEC per season.
For the moment I consider my results in the Wild Format using XBOT as positive but the evaluation whether to continue playing in this format I can make only at the end of the season and only if my gain in SPS will be worth more than the cost of the Wild Format.
In four sessions I have earned a total of about 83 SPS (104 SPS - 20% fees from XBOT).
83 SPS are worth almost half the cost of the Wild Pass but to be incentivized to continue playing in the Wild Format I will have to earn at least 300 to 350 SPS this season and especially in the future.
This season will mainly be a season of study and evaluation for me because based on the final season results I will decide:
- whether to continue playing in the Wild Format
- which cards to leave available to XBOT and which to make available for rental to earn some DEC to use to purchase Arcana or Rebellion cards that can be used in the Modern Format.
My last battles played in Modern Format and Wild Format
I end this post by showing my last two battles won, my last battle won in Modern Format and my last battle won in Wild Format to show the difference in SPS gain in different leagues and with different amount of staked SPS.
In the next picture you can see my last battle I played and won with @libertycrypto27 in the Modern Format in the Diamond III league with a SPS boost x9.06 (86K SPS staked)
This battle is interesting because I could not use level 4 Akane and despite using all level 1 cards, including 2 cards of the Arcana Conclave set, I won the battle by gaining 8.96 SPS.
In the next image you can see my last battle I won playing with @libertygame27 in the Wild Format in the Diamond I league using XBOT and with a SPS boost x3.97 (53.5K SPS staked including 50K SPS staked received in delegation from my main account)

La modifica che ha avuto più impatto sulla mia attività di gioco è stata la fuoriuscita delle carte del set Chaos Legion dal Modern Format.
Infatti prima del rilascio del nuovo set di carte giocavo con due accounts nel Modern Format.
Adesso che non posso più utilizzare le mie carte Chaos Legion nel mio formato preferito:
- continuo a giocare manualmente e continuo a divertirmi nel Modern Format con il mio account principale (libertycrypto27)
- ho delegato le mie carte Chaos Legion al mio curation account per i token SPT (libertygame27) e sono ritornato a giocare anche nel Wild Format dove però non gioco manualmente ma utilizzo XBOT.
In questo post condivido la mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nei due formati del ranke play dopo 7 giorni dal rilascio del nuovo set e dalla fuoriuscita delle carte Chaos Legion dal Modern Format.
La mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nel Modern Format
Prima del rilascio del nuovo set di carte, quando potevo usare le mie carte Chaos legion nel Modern Format, avevo 9 Archons (evocatori) di massimo livello e 6 Archons di massimo livello del set Gladiator a disposizione.
Adesso nel Monder Format posso usare solo 1 Archon leggendario di massimo livello (Akane), 1 archon comune di livello 4 e 5 evocatori di livello 1.
La mia forza in battaglia nel Modern Format è diminuita di molto anche considerando le Unit cards perchè nella mia collezione di carte del set Chaos Legion ho:
- 24 carte leggendarie di massimo livello
- 13 carte epiche di massimo livello
- 29 carte rare di massimo livello
- 24 carte comuni di massimo livello
Nonostante ho poche carte di massimo livello da utilizzare nel Modern Format i miei risultati di gioco nella stagione in corso sono stati migliori (o meno peggio) di quelli che mi aspettavo.
Infatti, anche se nella stagione in corso ho giocato solo 37 battaglie, il mio win rate è del 50% e sono nella lega Diamond III.
Per il momento il mio win rate è leggermente inferiore al win rate che ho ottenuto nella stagione precedente utilizzando le mie carte Chaos legion e Riftwatchers.
E' ancora presto per fare valutazioni ma la mia impressione è che molti giocatori nel Modern Format si trovano nella mia stessa situazione e, come me, non hanno una collezione di carte molto forte e sono in fase di costruzione di una nuova collezione competitiva nel Modern Format.
La mia collezione di carte Conclave Arcana è composta da 178 carte = 186 BCX.
Ho trovato queste carte all'interno di 10 standar packs e 27 starter packs più 1 carta promo che ho ricevuto per aver partecipato alla presale.
Per aumentare il numero di carte Conclave Arcana in mio possesso oggi ho acquistato altri 27 starter packs.
Ho fatto questa scelta per due motivi:
- ho bisogno di più carte per avere più scelte in battaglia e gli starter packs hanno un costo di acquisto basso anche se è possibile trovare solo carte comuni e rare.
- ho bisogno soprattutto di aumentare il livello degli Archons in mio possesso che sono carte rare e quindi trovabili negli starter packs.
- gli starter packs hanno un valore stimato superiore al costo di acquisto in base al calcolo presente nella sezione Pack Stats di Peakmonsters.

La mia attività di gioco e i miei progressi nel Wild Format
Le mie carte Chaos Legion non possono più essermi utili nel Modern Format ma nel Wild Format si stanno mostrando molto utili perchè dopo 4 sessioni di gioco giocate da XBOT hanno permesso a libertygame27 di avanzare di tre leghe: Gold I -> Diamond I
Nella stagione in corso non è stato necessario acquistare il Wild Pass ma dalla prossima stagione sarà necessario spendere 2000 DEC a stagione.
Per il momento considero positivi i miei risultati nel Wild Format usando XBOT ma la valutazione se continuare a giocare in questo formato la potrò fare solo a fine stagione e solo se il mio guadagno in SPS avrà un valore superiore al costo del Wild Format.
In quattro sessioni ho guadagnato un totale di circa 83 SPS (104 SPS - 20% fees di XBOT).
83 SPS valgono quasi metà costo del Wild Pass ma per essere incentivato a continuare a giocare nel Wild Format dovrò guadagnare almeno 300 - 350 SPS in questa stagione.
Questa stagione sarà una stagione di studio e valutazione per me perchè in base ai risultati stagionali finali deciderò:
- se continuare a giocare nel Wild Format
- quali carte lasciare a disposizione di XBOT e quali mettere a disposizione per il noleggio per guadagnare qualche DEC da utilizzare per acquistare carte Arcana o Rebellion utilizzabili nel Modern Format.
La mie ultime battaglie giocate nel Modern Format e nel Wild Format
Concludo questo post mostrando le mie ultime due battaglie vinte, la mia ultima battaglia vinta nel Modern Format e la mia ultima battaglia vinta nel Wild Format per mostrare la differenza di guadagno in SPS in leghe diverse e con un quantitativo di SPS staked diverso.
Nella prossima immagine puoi vedere la mia ultima battaglia che ho giocato e vinto giocando manualmente con @libertycrypto27 nel Modern Format nella lega Diamond III con un SPS boost x9.06 (86K SPS staked)
Questa battaglia è interessante perchè non ho potuto usare Akane di livello 4 e nonostante ho utilizzato tutte carte di livello 1, tra cui 2 carte del set Conclave Arcana, ho vinto la battaglia guadagnando 8.96 SPS.

ok, mi sa che il team qui ha un problema 😅 se bastano carte anche di livello molto basso per arrivare così in alto, mi sa che quasi quasi questa Stagione torno a giocare anch'io! Magari riesco a guadagnare qualche centinaio di SPS che male non fanno :)

Which of the new abilities do you think are the most significant to turn the tide in battle?
I am planning to try XBOT in WIld format for my entire collection for a season, since I don't have any Arcana cards yet.
Are there any posts explaining how to use XBOT?
I think I will create a new account and use that to play Modern going forward.
What cards can I use in Modern now?

As you've said, many players do not have enough cards to compete in modern. So you might not lose too many games or miss out on SPS rewards. Infact, since CL is now out of modern, it means many more SPS rewards for those that are currently still playing in modern.

It looks like you are doing great in the new modern format. Just wondering, but do you get about $1 in worth of cards from the starter pack by opening them directly?

The estimated value of a pack of cards is always an uncertain value because it tends to be real when you buy a lot of packs of cards but right now, based on Peakmonsters calculations, the estimated value of 1 starter pack = the average market value of the cards found in a starter pack is greater than the purchase cost.
So for 1 starter pack you spend $0.962 but the estimated value is $1.018.
