The nasi lemak side dishes spread

My husband loves to check out burger restaurant every now and then due to his love for burgers, as well as being an owner of burger food truck last time. Recently, he found out from his friend about a humble small burger shop at the side of road. He suggested us to dine there for last Friday.

Trucker Burger

It is called Trucker Burger, owned by a family. We saw the wife and other family members and a baby there, resting at one of the table, while the husband and another man were doing the cooking job.

It is located at Jalan J9, Taman Melawati, 53100 Kuala Lumpur.

Menu

It is indeed a simple menu. I love it because you did not need to crack your head on what to chooose. The menu showed the ala carte section of classic cheese burger and grill chicken burger, as well as sides of fries and cheese and soft drinks. The boss recommended us the combo set menu which had selection of classic cheese burger and grill chicken burger which came with fries. Or we could opt for double classic burger and double grill chicken burger.

We chose two classic cheese burger combo sets for the boys and one grill chicken burger combo set for the boss of the house, le' husband.

I saw a layout of 'nasi lemak' ingredients at the side, so I asked of it. Immediately, I knew I wanted to try their 'nasi lemak' as I was craving for rice, and not so up to it for burger due to my braces.

Classic cheese burger

It came with really thick patty, made of homemade 160 gram of minced beef, with homemade classic burger sauce, American cheese and caramelised onions. Both the boys commented delicious, the burgers were gone in just few minutes. They ate in such speedy manner. Must be very yummy. They said the sauce was special and nice.

Grill chicken burger

This one came with grill whole chicken leg, properly grill, soft tender chicken meat. Came with special sauce for the chicken, as well as caramelised onions. I had one bite of this, and oh my, really delicious.

Nasi Lemak

It was a simple 'nasi lemak' stall just beside the burger, operated by same family. On that night, there were only dishes such as fried egg, 'sambal' squid and 'sambal' petai. I chose my nasi lemak to go with one fried egg and the 'sambal' squid. As usual, 'nasi lemak' came with the signature sambal and roasted peanut and some slices of cucumbers. Nothing fancy about the nasi lemak, the usual kind of delicious and it satisfied my rice craving. The rice was really fragrant, cooked by using coconut milk. Yums!

The only thing which made our dinner experience not so pleasant was the many cats walking around us. I was ok with cats but my youngest son did not really fancy and the whole experience somehow became daunting when on and off, cats came to our table, asking for food. The cats even attempted to climb up to chairs and table. We love cats but somehow the cats around here looked quite sick, we felt pitiful yet we couldn't help much. So yup, I was not ready to tackle this matter. After finishing our dinner, we quickly settled the bill and left the place. I would come again to this place for burger, but by myself.
