Buenas noches mis estimados amigos de Hive, en esta oportunidad vamos hablar un poco de lo que me apasiona hacer, vamos a conocer un poco acerca de la anestesia, un aspecto muy temido por los pacientes que van a ser sometodos a cirugias . Mitos o realidades?

La anestesia ha sido siempre una de las mayores preocupaciones a la hora de planear cualquier procedimiento quirúrgico. El miedo a la anestesia surge de una inquietante pregunta: ¿volveré a despertarme? Hoy en día el riesgo de un acto anestésico es mínimo pues se ha avanzado mucho en el desarrollo de fármacos y técnicas efectivas y seguras.

El anestesiolo siempre sera su amigo sera la ultima persona que beras antes de dormir y la primera en verla al despertar, es importante hacer empatia, preguntar dus dudas, con gusto le explicaremos el procedimiento y aclaremos despejaremos sus inquietudes. The frequent stories we hear about anesthesia have generated a series of popular myths that I will clarify here in this post.

Myth 1: "The person stayed in anesthesia and did not wake up". You will be constantly monitored during the surgery; The anesthesiologist will literally read your vital signs minute by minute, so you can anticipate and fix any incidents that arise. Cases of death directly related to the anesthetic procedure occur in patients with highly evolved and complicated chronic conditions***

Las frecuentes historias que oímos sobre la anestesia han generado una serie de mitos populares que aquí esñn este post las aclarare.

Mito 1: “La persona se quedó en la anestesia y no despertó”. Usted estará monitorizado constantemente durante la cirugía; literalmente, el anestesiólogo leerá minuto a minuto sus signos vitales, con lo que puede anticipar y solucionar cualquier incidente que surja. Los casos de muerte directamente relacionados con el procedimiento anestésico ocurren en pacientes con padecimientos crónicos muy evolucionados y complicados.

Myth 2: "Can I remember or wake up during anesthesia?". Depending on the type of anesthesia that is applied in your case, you may or may not remember the procedure. In the case of general anesthesia, the drugs administered reduce consciousness, block sensitivity and prevent muscle movement. All these functions return to their previous state at the end of the intervention.

Waking up in the middle of a surgical procedure is extremely rare, since there are equipment that helps us control the adequate degree of consciousness so that the patient can be operated on. In an operating room the word improvisation does not exist***

Mito 2: “¿Puedo recordar o despertar durante la anestesia?”. Dependiendo del tipo de anestesia que se aplique en su caso podrá o no recordar el procedimiento. En caso de anestesia general los fármacos administrados disminuyen el estado de consciencia, bloquean la sensibilidad e impiden el movimiento muscular. Todas estas funciones vuelven a su estado previo al finalizar la intervención.

Despertar en medio de un procedimiento quirúrgico es extremadamente raro, dado que existen equipos que nos ayudan a controlar el grado de conciencia adecuado para que el paciente pueda ser intervenido. En un quirófano la palabra improvisación no existe.

Myth 3: "The awakening is terrible." It is true that there are cases where people wake up with nervous breakdowns, crying, screaming or with great discomfort. These cases are exceptional and there are medications that contribute to a pleasant and painless awakening.

Mito 3: “El despertar es terrible”. Es verdad que hay casos donde las personas se despiertan con crisis nerviosas, llorando, gritando o con un enorme malestar. Estos casos son excepcionales y existen medicaciones que contribuyen a un despertar agradable y sin dolor

Myth 4: "Will I vomit the anesthesia or will I urinate it?". Nausea that occurs after surgery is due to the side effect of several of the medications used during an anesthetic procedure. One of our most important challenges is to prevent this nausea from appearing.

On the other hand, all the substances that our body receives are eliminated, to a greater or lesser extent, through the urine. But eliminating the by-products of anesthetic drugs is not going to do your kidneys extra or harmful work

Mito 4: “¿La anestesia la vomitaré o la orinaré?” Las náuseas aparecidas tras una intervención quirúrgica se deben al efecto secundario de varias de las medicaciones que se usan durante un procedimiento anestésico. Uno de nuestros retos más importantes es prevenir que estas náuseas aparezcan.

Por otra parte, todas las sustancias que nuestro organismo recibe son eliminadas, en mayor o menor medida, a través de la orina. Pero eliminar los productos derivados de los fármacos anestésicos no va a suponer para sus riñones un trabajo extra ni perjudicial

Myth 5: “Will I die if it happens to me. of anesthesia?". It will not go beyond anesthesia, it is true that we use various drugs for the induction and maintenance of anesthesia, but these drugs are reversible. That is, one drug is used to abolish the effect of another. If no complications arise during the surgery, you will wake up calm and in comfort

Mito 5: “¿Moriré si me pasa. de anestesia?” No se pasara de anestesia, es cierto que usamos diversos farmacos para la inducción y mantenimiento anestésico, pero dichos fármacos son reversibles. Es decir, se emplea un medicamento para abolir el efecto de otro. Si no surgen complicaciones dirante la cirugía, usted despertara tranquilo y en confort
