Today I want to show you how to make a cute and inexpensive cotton storage container in the shape of a cute baby hippo. It is a useful and very practical design, easy to do that will allow us to decorate spaces and have cotton on hand in our home.

Hoy quiero mostrarles como elaborar un lindo y económico recipiente para guardar algodón con forma de linda hipopótamo bebé. Es un diseño útil y muy práctico , fácil de hacer que nos permitirá decorar los espacios y tener a la mano el algodón en nuestro hogar.

They will need:

Necesitarán:

• Round plastic container.
• Cardboard (thick).
• White cardboard (thick).
• Pink and white card stock.
• 2 metal rings (large).
•Pencil.
• Black marker.
• Golden fabric.
• Brilliant jewelery bead.
•Glue.
•Needle and thread.
• Scissors (large and small).

•Recipiente redondo plástico.
•Cartón (grueso).
•Cartón blanco ( grueso).
•Cartulina rosada y blanca.
•2 aros de metal ( grande).
•Lápiz.
•Marcador negro.
•Tela dorada.
•Cuenta brillante de bisutería.
•Pegamento.
•Aguja e hilo.
•Tijeras ( grande y pequeña).

He began by cutting the upper edge of the plastic container (with the large scissors), made a semicircle on the thick white cardboard (taking the edge of the container as a reference), continued drawing the outline of the baby hippo's head and its ears, then placed the container on cardboard and drew their legs (cut out the figures).

Inició cortando el borde superior del recipiente de plástico (con la tijera grande), macó un semicírculo en el cartón grueso blanco (tomando como referencia el borde del recipiente )continuó dibujando el contorno de la cabeza del hipopótamo bebé y sus orejas, luego ubicó el recipiente sobre en cartón y dibujó sus patitas (recortó las figuras).

Marking the outline of the hippo's head and legs on the pink cardboard, he drew the details of the face (eyes, eyebrows, nose, mouth, muzzle); he continued to mark the edge (with the black marker) and cut out the figure.

Marcar el contorno de la cabeza y patitas del hipopótamo en la cartulina rosada, dibujó los detalles de la cara (ojos, cejas, nariz, boca, hocico);continuó marcando el borde (con el marcador negro ) y recortó la figura.

I cut the inside of the ears and nails of the paws on the white cardboard (glued to the figure). He continued applying glue to the cardboard and fixing the pink cardboard figures of the legs and head.

Corto en la cartulina blanca el interior de las orejas y uñas de las patita ( pegó a la figura). Continuó aplicando pegamento al cartón y fijando las figuras de cartulina rosada de las patitas y cabeza.

He placed the figure's head on the upper edge of the plastic container and marked two points that coincide on each side of the hippo's head and the container; with the tip of the scissors open the holes; then he passed the metal rings through the holes in the container and then through the holes in the hippo's head (I close the rings).

Ubicó la cabeza del la figura sobre el borde superior del recipiente plástico y marcó a cada lado de la cabeza del hipopótamo y del recipiente dos puntos que coincidan; con la punta de la tijera abrir los orificios; luego pasó los aros de metal por los orificios del recipiente y luego por los de la cabeza del hipopótamo (cierro los aros).

To finish, I fix the legs to the base of the container; Then with the gold fabric and the jewelry bead, he made a bow and fixed it to one side of the baby hippo's head.

Para finalizar fijo las patitas a la base del recipiente; luego con la tela dorada y la cuenta de bisutería realizó un lazo y fijo este a un lado de la cabeza del hipopótamo bebé.
