The Magic of Flowers: Why a Simple Bloom Can Brighten Our World

Hello GEMS! it's my first time sharing in this community and yeah let’s get everything straight, I am not the type of woman who demands or expects material things and grand gestures. I’m not out here living on Earth with a list of requirements for the universe to check off just to make my day better hahaha. 😆 Kidding aside, I’m an appreciative soul. Just a simple greeting and a warm smile from you already means a lot to me. I always find happiness in the little things like a perfect brewed coffee every morning before work, sweet messages or genuine hugs from my loved ones, perfectly timed motivational and inspirational quotes in the feed, and even hilarious memes or funny videos sent to me. Honestly, I’m truthfully happy and fine with all of that. I believe that no pile of gold, diamonds, or sophisticated dates are needed for me to feel I'm genuinely loved and appreciated.

But then flowers.

Oh, flowers. Receiving fresh flowers on a random day honestly just brings out an indescribable feeling within me. Seeing those beautiful petals always brings out some magical feeling out of me every time I see them. When we're extra tired, these gestures really brings an unexpected radiant feeling that brightens our mood. Sometimes, I would say that the universe really gives us a moment to realize that life is beautiful and magical.

Here’s the thing, flowers are simple. They’re not trying too hard. They don't come with any grand reveal, because it seems like they don’t need to. To me, the basic nature of flowers seems like a powerful vehicle of emotions because they deliver messages whose words fall short of elaboration, to speak the unspeakable, I prolly say. I prefer something without subtlety which means I simply continue with my daily routine while people suddenly find themselves with flowers in their hands. Those flowers came in with their lively beauty delivered to you on an unexpected and random day.

I know that we do really find genuine happiness in thinking about the careful thought which goes into giving or receiving flowers. It's the thought despite everyone's hustle and bustle in this demanding world, there's someone or people may it be our romantic partners, closest friends, colleagues, or just random strangers who thought to hand us one. It doesn't matter where they came from. The actual spell lies in how someone chose to think of us at that time as they invested money and energy into choosing beautiful flowers to brighten up our day. Isn't that so sweet? It just magically tells us that we're loved and we matter. This is something positive to bring pleasure into our day.

I believe that true love really exists in wonderful gestures like this which definitely make one's heart flutter. If to some, that is just simple flower, it's actually not. It speaks more than that. They just don't understand how a single wildflower plucked on the side of the street can make someone so happy, so loved, and so special. Right now, while writing this, I cannot help but smile staring at the beautiful bouquets of flowers in my room that are already dried and are about to be preserved. As someone who's very sentimental to everything I receive, I cannot just throw it away to the bin like trash. I won't. I'll be keeping this with me, as these flowers, no matter how dull they seem already, will always give me a reason to smile.

In fact, anything doesn't have to be luxurious and fancy. For me, it's not the price tag that counts, it's the authenticity behind it. It's the love and genuineness that really matters. No matter how simple things may be, may it be a sweet message written on a note, a simple text, or a single bloom, are all gestures of love and care that we people shouldn't overlook. As all these things simply remind us, there's still beauty and warmth in this chaotic world. That's why, we really have to appreciate even the smallest and simplest things we receive, and cherish the thought behind it, that someone really took the time to make our world a little brighter.
