Even though it is not far from a big city, the village can be said to be unaffected by the bustle and noise of the city. Between the village and the city is separated by a lagoon. In fact, the village is on a barrier island in Banda Aceh, with a small population. Its residents are mostly fishermen's families. Life there is built through various activities related to the sea, especially fishing in small boats. The fishermen there also have a variety of techniques for catching fish that swim into the lagoon when the tide rises. They install upright triangular nets that direct the fish to the traps at low tide. They also made crab traps with basket boxes tied to wooden or bamboo poles and put crab bait in them. I think, different environments, different methods and techniques are developed for livelihood and life. Humans are always gifted with the power to observe and produce knowledge, and from there they think to adapt to their environment, survive, and even develop their lives. These are some pictures I took in one corner of the village.
