Fue una grata sorpresa para mí. Gracias a @stytchh logré ir al evento. Fue una maravillosa experiencia, no soy de salir mucho a eventos, no me gustan, pero como era gratis y sobre maquillaje no podía perdérmelo.

Hello dear readers, I hope you are all well. I am very happy and I want to share with you that happiness, a few days ago, I went to a very important makeup event. It was a nice surprise for me. Thanks to @stytchh I managed to go to the event. It was a wonderful experience, I'm not one to go out much to events, I don't like them, but since it was free and about makeup I couldn't miss it.

Como a eso de las 8:30 de la noche me avisó que se había ganado dos entradas adicionales y que me quería regalar una. Estaba que lloraba, ni siquiera sabía de qué era el evento, solo sabía que era de maquillaje, cuando me puse a investigar y leí de qué trataba, me emocioné aún más. Era un evento de un maquillador profesional y reconocido aquí en Venezuela, el curso era demostrativo por lo tanto no había que llevar materiales.

At about 8:30 at night she told me that she had won two additional tickets and that she wanted to give me one as a gift. I was in tears, I didn't even know what the event was about, I only knew it was about makeup, when I started to investigate and read what it was about, I got even more excited. It was an event of a professional and recognized makeup artist here in Venezuela, the course was demonstrative so you didn't have to bring any materials.

Voy a ser sincera, al principio no me sentía cómoda en el sitio, habían demasiadas personas y yo no conocía a nadie excepto a mi prima, ver a tantas personas juntas me abrumó, pero con el paso del tiempo me fui acostumbrando, además, no me sentía muy cómoda con la ropa que llevaba puesta, había código de vestimenta para el evento, etiqueta o media etiqueta donde predomine el negro, y yo, por supuesto no tenía ni para la media etiqueta. Mi prima me prestó un pantalón y mi mamá los tacones y la camisa, no era nada parecido al estilo de ropa que me gusta, pero era lo único que había, ni modo, tampoco se me veía tan mal.

I will be honest, at first I did not feel comfortable in the place, there were too many people and I did not know anyone except my cousin, seeing so many people together overwhelmed me, but as time went by I got used to it, besides I did not feel very comfortable with the clothes I was wearing, there was a dress code for the event, black tie or half black tie where black was predominant, and I, of course I did not even have enough for half black tie. My cousin lent me a pair of pants and my mom lent me the heels and the shirt, it was nothing like the style of clothes I like, but it was the only thing available, no way, I didn't look so bad either.

El evento era desde temprano hasta la tarde, mi prima contrató un servicio de taxi que nos llevó a la hora acordada, incluso llegamos un poco tarde (por imprevistos), pero a pesar de ello nos quedamos esperando casi una hora, paradas afuera haciendo cola, con tacones, mi espalda estaba empezando a decirme que ir fue mala idea, pero ya estábamos, ni el dolor de pies ni en la espalda podía impedirme disfrutar del momento. Ya cuando entramos pudimos respirar un poco y sentarnos, habían muchos sitios para tomarse fotos, stands con los patrocinadores del evento, muchos puestos donde estaban a la venta maquillajes promocionados y usados por el anfitrión, para tener acceso a ellos.

The event was from early to late afternoon, my cousin hired a cab service that took us to the agreed time, we even arrived a little late (due to unforeseen circumstances), but despite that we were waiting for almost an hour, standing outside in line, with heels, my back was starting to tell me that going was a bad idea, but we were there, neither the pain in my feet nor in my back could prevent me from enjoying the moment. When we got inside we could breathe a little and sit down, there were many places to take pictures, stands with the sponsors of the event, many stands where they were selling makeup promoted and used by the host, to have access to them.

Cada entrada tenía ciertos beneficios diferentes, la entrada general (la que nosotras teníamos), incluía foto con el artista (no me la tomé), video con cámara 360°(yo no quise esto), cóctel (que estaba delicioso), un pigmento de la marca del maquillador (precioso) y un certificado digital.

Each ticket had certain different benefits, the general ticket (the one we had), included a photo with the artist (I didn't take it), video with 360° camera (I didn't want this), cocktail (which was delicious), a pigment of the make-up artist's brand (beautiful) and a digital certificate.

Para el primer maquillaje, hizo algo muy sencillo pero se veía espectacular, me sorprendió que no usara tantos materiales o que hiciera un look exagerado, como es de esperar de un maquillador profesional, usó algunos materiales de muy buena calidad que mi bolsillo humilde no puede pagar, pero existen alternativas económicas a esos productos. Tal vez pueda intentar algún día recrear el maquillaje de la primera modelo.

For the first makeup, he did something very simple but it looked spectacular, I was surprised that he didn't use so many materials or make an exaggerated look, as expected from a professional makeup artist, he used some very good quality materials that my humble pocket can't afford, but there are economic alternatives to those products. Maybe I can try someday to recreate the first model's makeup.

Hablando de la modelo, tenía prácticamente la piel perfecta, que fue una de las cosas que no me convencieron mucho, me hubiera gustado ver en la clase que al menos uno de los dos modelos tuviera acné o imperfecciones. Pero supongo que no era una clase dedicada a eso, dejando de lado esa opinión mía, los maquillajes quedaron espectaculares. El primero fue un maquillaje más sencillo, para eventos, nada tan complicado, incluso para una boda modificando un poco los colores.

Speaking of the model, she had practically flawless skin, which was one of the things that didn't really convince me, I would have liked to see in the class that at least one of the two models had acne or imperfections. But I guess it wasn't a class dedicated to that, that opinion of mine aside, the makeups looked spectacular. The first one was a simpler, event makeup, nothing that complicated, even for a wedding by modifying the colors a bit.

Aprendí muchas cosas sobre la preparación de la piel, la aplicación de vitamina C y el skincare previo al maquillaje, cómo afecta al aspecto del maquillaje a largo plazo. Hubieron sorteos de cajas de emprendedores con un montón de productos de maquillaje, paletas de sombras, hasta una limpieza dental había en las rifas. Mi prima afortunadamente se ganó una paleta de correctores, yo no me gané nada :(, con la entrada venía un regalo que era un pigmento suelto del maquillador y en uno de los stands me regalaron unos zarcillos muy bonitos, esas fueron las dos cositas que me regalaron y la experiencia y el conocimiento que también fueron gratis. Entre el servicio que ofrecieron, como mencioné antes, un cóctel gratis que estaba muy rico y ofrecieron un coffee break, para el momento en el que fui a buscar las cosas solo quedaba tequeños, triste por mí, pero estaban ricos y también me tomé una taza de café que también estaba rico.

I learned a lot about skin preparation, vitamin C application and skincare prior to makeup, how it affects the long term look of the makeup. There were raffles of entrepreneur boxes with lots of makeup products, eyeshadow palettes, even a teeth cleaning was in the raffles. My cousin luckily won a palette of concealers, I didn't win anything :(, with the ticket came a gift that was a loose pigment from the makeup artist and in one of the stands they gave me some very nice earrings, those were the two little things I got and the experience and knowledge that were also free. Among the service they offered, as I mentioned before, a free cocktail that was very tasty and they offered a coffee break, by the time I went to get the things there were only tequeños left, sad for me, but they were delicious and I also had a cup of coffee that was also delicious.

El segundo maquillaje que se realizó fue un maquillaje para hombre tipo editorial, el maquillaje tipo editorial es un poquito más complicado, ya que es un poco más laborioso y más difícil. El modelo era un chico asiático, lo cual me sorprendió porque no es muy común ver modelos hombres en clases de maquillaje. Fue muy interesante, el maquillador explicó las formas correctas de hacer el entorno de rostro, que es muy diferente al contorno de rostro para mujer, hay que acentuar otros rasgos.

The second make-up that was done was an editorial type make-up for a man, the editorial type make-up is a little more complicated, since it is a little more laborious and more difficult. The model was an Asian guy, which surprised me because it's not very common to see male models in makeup classes. It was very interesting, the make-up artist explained the correct ways to do the face contour, which is very different from the face contour for women, you have to accentuate other features.

No quise tomarme fotos con el maquillador porque no me sentía bien, tenía mucho dolor de espalda porque no estoy acostumbrada a usar tacones por tanto tiempo. Lo último que hice fue tomarme fotos con el chico, para ese momento estaba cansada y la pintura de labios se me había quitado, por eso preferí ponerme el cubrebocas. Pero a pesar de todo la pasé genial, lo bueno compensa lo malo. Espero que les haya agradado mi post, fue un placer compartir con ustedes esta experiencia, hasta la próxima.

I didn't want to take pictures with the makeup artist because I didn't feel well, I had a lot of back pain because I'm not used to wearing heels for so long. The last thing I did was to take pictures with the guy, by that time I was tired and the lipstick had worn off, so I preferred to put on my mask.
