WORLD OF CHICKS

Let me introduce you to the daily activities to a poultry business in which I work in. Like I said this is a poultry farm filled with 10,000 chick, and I would be telling you guys the step and routine which they are feed.

Presently these chicks are 3week old,and they have been growing perfectly even though we had some mortality rate at first but it was control by some rescue measure
applied, but before I continue I would give you details on when they arrived and the amount of food they consumed then and the amount of food they are consuming this present moment.

Soo the first week the chick arrived, they were given a full ration of 25kg bag filled with chicks feed , for the first week and water also and less I forget, few poultry farms use machinery to feed there chick and do the same to feed the chick water too but due the expensive applied , we use the manual method which is the use of the plastic flat blows and plastic drinkers to feed them in the morning and afternoon, we continued these method till the first week ended .

The chick feed as different ingredients added together to help their growth like maize,millet, wheat oval and many more.

The second week , we increased the feed from 1(25kg)bag to 3(25kg) bag of full chick food. On this same week they had there first treatment which is chick vaccine called Gumboro .
I would tell you how it is applied, at first we mix the vaccine with water then divide it into there various plastic drinker then we let the chick drink it for at least 1hour and after this hours we are to dispose the vaccine far away from the poultry because we were told that after the chick consume the vaccine behind an hours it could affect there life's . After that proceed we clean the drinker and give them antibiotics mixed with water to help them gain balance and the vaccine is to be given to them once in a week .

The picture showed below is the actual week the chicks are which is the third week and we has increase there feed from 3bags to 5bags due to the way they consume the food and there size too,presently this week the chicks would not be given vaccine because there are weeks interval that they should be given vaccine.

This is the moment I explain how they are feed every morning ,
First we remove every drinker for cleaning and after that, we apply new drinker ,fill them up with new water mixed with vitamins.
Then after we are done serving the water, we serve the chick food into various plastics and feeder then split them in different angles of the poultry
