Hola queridísimos amigos de Hive Blog el día de hoy vengo a presentar una de las plantas que mas me gustan de mi jardín. Se trata de un árbol que produce tomates.
Un árbol que produce tomates? Sí existe, también conocido como "tamarillo" aunque en la zona donde vivo lo conocemos como tomate de árbol, es una planta que pocas personas tienen ya que por lo general crecen en lugares cálidos y en donde vivo hay temporadas de bastante frió, pero como en mi caso si están bien resguardadas no tendremos problemas.

Hello dear friends of Hive Blog, today I come to present one of the plants that I like the most in my garden. It is a tree that produces tomatoes.
A tree that produces tomatoes? It does exist, also known as "tamarillo" although in the area where I live we know it as tree tomato, it is a plant that few people have since they generally grow in warm places and where I live there are quite cold seasons, but as in my case if they are well protected we will have no problems.

¿Te gustan los tomates? La verdad que a mi si me encantan tanto así que siempre la tengo en una ensalada, acompañando un pan tostado y en variedad de comidas. Pero de seguro siempre acostumbras consumir la variedad herbáceas mas común. Pero, ¿y si te dijera que existe una variedad que es más un arbolito?, se trata nada mas que de un "tomate de árbol ".

You like tomatoes? The truth is that I do love them so much so I always have it in a salad, accompanying toasted bread and a variety of foods. But surely you always use the most common herbaceous variety. But what if I told you that there is a variety that is more like a tree? It is nothing more than a "tree tomato".

Este es un arbusto o arbolito que es originario de América Latina, ya que la podemos encontrar en una variedad de países como en Perú, Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina y Venezuela. Puede llegar a tener una altura de 3 a 4 metros. Su nombre científico es Solanum betaceum, aunque también dependiendo del país en que te encuentres pueden llamarse de diversas maneras, por ejemplo, tomate andino, tomate serrano, tomate de yuca, tomate de árbol, mango nórdico, berenjena o tamarillo.

This is a shrub or small tree that is native to Latin America, since we can find it in a variety of countries such as Peru, Bolivia, Ecuador, Argentina and Venezuela. It can reach a height of 3 to 4 meters. Its scientific name is Solanum betaceum, although also depending on the country you are in, they can be called in different ways, for example, Andean tomato, Serrano tomato, Cassava tomato, Tree tomato, Nordic mango, Eggplant or Tamarillo.

El fruto es de tamaño regular muy parecido a los tomates que podemos encontrar en los mercados, tienen la piel lisa de color rojo o anaranjado al madurar. Se puede comer tanto crudas o cocinadas en diversas formas como en dulces y postres. Tienen vitaminas A, C y E.

The fruit is of regular size very similar to the tomatoes that we can find in the markets, they have smooth skin of red or orange color when ripe. It can be eaten both raw or cooked in various forms, as well as sweets and desserts. They have vitamins A, C and E.

Algunos cuidados a tener en cuenta son las siguientes.
Plantar en un lugar exterior que este en semisombra.
Plantar en casi en cualquier lugar siempre y cuando tenga buen drenaje.
El riego debe ser constante.
Es preferible abonar con frecuencia pero solo de manera ecológica.
Podemos reproducir mediante las semillas
Plantar en un lugar donde no exista heladas ya que no soportan las temperaturas inferiores a 10 grados centigrados.

Some cares to take into account are the following.
Plant outdoors in half shade.
Plant almost anywhere as long as it has good drainage.
Irrigation must be constant.
It is preferable to pay frequently but only in an ecological way.
We can reproduce through the seeds
Plant in a place where there are no frosts since they cannot withstand temperatures below 10 degrees Celsius.

Tomate

Ahora muestro algunas fotografías que realice a las plantas que tengo, una de ellas aun esta en crecimiento y no tiene ningún fruto, en la otra planta si existen varios frutos ya maduros, otras aun verdes y ademas de varias flores.

Now I show some photographs that I take of the plants that I have, one of them is still growing and has no fruit, on the other plant there are several fruits that are already ripe, others are still green and in addition to several flowers.
