The Williamsburg Bridge

Yesterday I shared a few shots in my Wednesday Walk post of a walk over part of the Williamsburg Bridge, and I will follow that this morning with a few shots of the Bridge taken from street level.

Here is a side-on shot of the bridge taken from a little park by the East River than runs under the bridge, and which seems quite popular with both runners and walkers.

Now as I mentioned yesterday I had never walked across this bridge before, nor been tot he little park that runs under it, I had only seen the bridge from a distance and never got any good shots of it and hence the visit to this park recently, the park itself I think is called the John V Lindsay East River Park, but I see on google maps part of it seems also to be called Corlears hook.

This next shot is taken on one side of the bridge and shows the cool detail of its structure

The Williamsburg Bridge is a suspension bridge in New York City across the East River connecting the Lower East Side of Manhattan at Delancey Street with the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn at Broadway near the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway.
the Bridge is 7,308 Feet Long and construction started in 1896 and it was completed in 1903 up until 1924 it has the longest suspension span in the world.

and a shot taken standing right under the bridge, where I went with a mono sort of style edit, which when I edited it last night I really liked, but now I am not so sure, but as I am preparing this post and want to post in a few minutes I guess I will go with it.

They're great pictures. You can see in detail the shapes of the structure and the weight they support. The way you present them induces us to relax. Thank you :)

and thanks for such a kind comment ;)

I think you have posted a similar mono edit from under a bridge not so long ago - I really like these color tones and that view with the bridge above.

I would be quite !DERANGED if I didn't give you a !BEER and a !COFFEEA for this $trdo post 😉

Yes indeed I think thats was a shot of under the 59th Street Bridge and that I was trying to do similar with this edit but couldnt get the same effect buy close LOL

I may not be !DERANGED but I share deranged tokens, similarly I don't drink !BEER anymore

Yes, I would say very close to the other photo.
That's why I always keep my PSD files, althoug they fill my hard disks ;) That way I can copy the adjustment layers to the new photo. I don't do much editing in Lightroom, so I should be able to recreate most effects more or less easily 🙂

A hot morning !COFFEEA is very important for me to wake up from my !DERANGED dreams 😉

Indeed that is a good reason for keeping the PSD file and if I do not do it regularly with all photos perhaps I should do it when I do a new style of editing, but alas I didnt again LLOL

I may not be !DERANGED but I share deranged tokens, similarly I don't drink !BEER anymore

That way you still keep learning an when you have done it a few times you will know what to do - I do only copy and paste the adjustment layers and have no idea anymore how I have achieved the results ;)

A !BEER has to be cold and a !COFFEEA has to be hot to taste good and not !DERANGED 😉

I generally do most of my edits from scratch I have a couple of presets but I seldom use them LOL, so I make it all new each time not very efficient I know

I may not be !DERANGED but I share deranged tokens, similarly I don't drink !BEER anymore

Everybody has his own workflow - I do most Lightroom work the same way and use the same adjustment layers with all my photos ;)
That's the fastest way for me to start and then every image is edited individually.

A !BEER has to be cold and a !COFFEEA has to be hot to taste good and not !DERANGED 😉

Thanks for sharing this. Would you know how long the bridge is? Your second and third pics give the impression that it is much shorter than what the 4th picture projects. Great postcard perfect pictures!

the total length of the bridge is 7,308 feet (2,227 m)
and it is funny how a different perspective can really change how something feels even a big bridge like this :)_

Wow!! It's an impressive bridge, good pictures my friend..

Post Card stuff here my friend.
Blessings!

These are really impressive pics for me!

My dream is to visit New York, because it is the center of jazz culture, all that I love so much. These bridges are not just bridges, they are real monuments of architectural art and a special culture that symbolizes New York and jazz.

I would play jazz guitar under this bridge in the evening. I would play something slow and smooth, maybe Black Orpheus or Besame Mucho or My Funny Valentine. I hope the police wouldn’t take me)))

Thanks and I do agree on jazz under that bridge would be so cool
