Providing feeds using commercial feeds is very expensive. 65 heads of feathered animals need 1 1/2 kilos a day. The kilo price of feeds is 30 pesos. So per day I need 45 pesos for feeds. 45 × 30 = 1,350. So my monthly expense for feeds is Php.1,350. But that's not where it stops. Since my breeders chickens and breeders ducks still continue to lay eggs, it means the demand for feed needs to increase. Surely, the amount of money expenses has also increased. So what I'm going to do is exert efforts to get the organic plants and chop them into small pieces and combine them with 1/2 kilo of feed.
This idea is very advantageous in two ways. First, the amount of feed is 1/2 kilo with organic plants, much more than the 1 1/2 kilos of commercial feed. Second, the health benefits of animals are better compared to purely commercial feeds. And also beneficial for the people who ate that chicken or duck. Here are the organic plants I used to: Epil-epil, malongay, banana leaves, fresh banana trunk, grass, overripe fruits, oregano herbal plants, and many more. I used those organic plants not at one time; I used them rotationally. Like the picture you see here.

After the chopping all the organics plants into small pieces, I mixed it with the commercial feeds. After that, I give it to the chickens and ducks.

Taking care of animals, like dogs, cats, ornamental fish, rabbits, birds like doves, lovebirds, chickens, ducks, goats, cows, turkeys, and geese, is my passion. When I was young, I used to care for goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, dogs, cats, and ornamental fish. When I was married, I used to care for chickens, ducks, cows, turkeys, geese, goats, dogs, cats, and ornamental fish. But now, the animals that I have to care for are only chickens, ducks, ornamental fish, rabbits, lovebirds, cats, and dogs.
Taking care of animals has always been a big part of my life. It’s more than a responsibility, it’s a passion that brings me joy and purpose every day. Even though it can be expensive and challenging at times, especially with the rising cost of feeds, I always try to find ways to care for them in a healthier and more sustainable way. Mixing organic plants with commercial feed is one of the best solutions I’ve found not only to save money, but also to keep my animals healthy and strong. I hope that by sharing my routine and experience, others who also care for animals will be encouraged to try natural and practical ways too. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. May you stay safe and blessed in all that you do.
