The Making of a King

in Proof of Brain15 days ago

Kingship is, in fact, an institution with which many have become accustom to especially in countries where they practiced monarchy. In countries where there exists a monarchy, such as in the UK, where the institution of a monarchy is deeply embedded within its history and culture, the people have a very different understanding of what power the monarch possesses, not necessarily in terms of governance, but in terms of what he represents: the unity and identity of the nation.

I am from the Ashanti Tribe and we have the Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene who is an influential king at the helm of affairs in the Ashanti Kingdom in Ghana. His influence and authority transcend the mere titles of kingship; it's not just about a throne but the power that comes with it. I see kingship as something that extends beyond just royal bloodlines and ceremonial crowns. I see true kingship as an inside-out process; it's about creating a mindset that knows its purpose, value and direction.

The making of a king is something that begins even before a crown is placed on a person's head. Those who are born into royalty, mostly know from a very tender age that they are born for greatness. They are trained for the title, not only education-wise or ritual-wise, but in molding their minds, ways, and approach to life. In a prince's upbringing process, from very early childhood, they are taught to think of themselves as a king, to talk like a king, to carry themselves like royalty.

This time around, it is not merely leading a nation but an embodiment of how they will one day live life to the fullest as a king. They are continuously refined and prepared for the throne. Kings are not merely made by birthright; they are made through ways one lives, the values upheld, and choices made each day. This is the principle that applies to each and every one of us. You don't have to be born into a royal family to be a king by all means.

The making of a king starts with one's self. It is how you think, your confidence level, and the way you approach life as a person. The moment you limit yourself, thinking you can't attain some things because you haven't reached the level of others as yet, then that's where life will place you. But if you think like a king and act like a king, your world will reflect this.True kings know their place, and they go for it. They understand their value and purpose, and they don't go shying away from taking what rightfully belongs to them.

Kings don't look to anyone for validation. A king moves with confidence because he has certainty of vision and his preordained destiny. The mindset of a king is not dictated by others. The world may see you as small, but if you carry yourself with the mindset of someone destined for greatness, others will eventually see it too. It's not about waiting for the right moment or the right title; it's about preparation in your everyday life—the way you think, carry yourself, and pursue what you want.

When you understand that you are made for greatness, nothing can hold you back. People may try to place limitations on you, but a king who has a reason to be always rises above. At the end of it all, making a king isn't about the external; it's an inside job. You don't have to have a physical throne to be a king in your own world; you can be that king by living a purpose-driven life with confidence and with the mindset of one who knows his worth. The throne is not a seat physically, but rather a mentality.
