It is very likely that many people who went to the protests got fed up. We all are, more or less. But I believe some use or try to use these kind of protests to their advantage, with (or without, more likely) the knowledge of most of the participants. It happens all the time, unfortunately.

Perhaps it is percussor of things to come in many other places?

It is possible. That's one reason why I used that title for the post.
