Divinities of ancient Yoruba; god of iron named Ogun, god of thunder Sango and goddess of wind/fury named Oya.

Ogun was believed to be the god of iron. He has power over everything made up of iron/metal and he was known with his big machete/cutlass. When the deified divinities were coming from heaven to earth, Ogun was believed to be the front man and was cutting every bush and obstacles along their path.

Sango on the hand was also performing his duties as they journey down to the mortal land and he was believed to be the god of thunder and he could kill anything with his thunder strike.

Oya was a beautiful woman and was also known as goddess of strong wind and fury, she has strength and rage, she do raised amry of the dead as her soliders to fight for her in battle, goddess of thunderbolt, fire, tornadoes, buffalo, and she was also a trader.

Obatala (the Sky Father and the creator of human bodies)

When they arrived on Earth, everyone of them were living in separate abode including all other gods like Obatala, Esu(devil)god of deceit and other gods just to mention few.

When there's war among the mortals, all the gods do come together as one and fight side by side to protect Yoruba territory against other tribes, Oya would summon the dead soldiers and used them in battle to protect her people. These gods really helped during their era most especially Oya, she can give children to those that found it difficult to conceive and also bring rainfall to boost farm produce. Ogun used to multiply Cutlass for farmers and other gods also contributed to the peace and harmony in their various village

Ogun happens to be the husband of Oya the goddess of wind, they enjoyed everyday together and they dare not annoy each other because they both have rage and uncontrollable anger within, Oya was a bitter colanut(Orogbo) seller and she hawks nearly everyday within and outside their village.

Each of the gods have a specific day they celebrate themselves every year where they invite friends to merry and dine together for the whole day.
The day Sango was celebrating himself (Sango festival), Ogun told his wife not to go out or hawk that very day but we all know women with their characters and decision at times. So, she told the husband that she'd make lot of sales as many people will be outside enjoying and merrying.

Then she left to hawk as usual when she was closed to the next village, she started hearing sound of drums and interesting songs. So, she started dancing towards the drum and she got to the scene which was Sango's house. Sango was amazed with Oya dancing steps and he took Oya in and turned her into his wife.

Esu(Devil god of deceit)
Meanwhile, it was Esu(devil) who planned everything right from the start, Esu with his cuny attitude brought all the thoughts to Oya's mind. It was late at night and Ogun was expecting is wife to return but no where to be found while Ogun was looking for his wife everywhere it was this same Esu that inform Ogun of his wife whereabouts. Now, Ogun's wife is now Sango's wife and the wrath of the gods begins.

They fought day in day out and even Obatala which is superior to the two gods could not stop the fight and this led to destruction of villages, properties and also killing of their followers. When they couldn't conquer each other, they both part ways and turned into statues later on.

Even up till date, Yoruba believe that thunder cannot strike anywhere there's bitter colanut tree or where they are making metals or iron. Likewise Oya who later turned into river Oya which is called River Niger in Nigeria but their powers and fight are still felt up till date during their festive period. We have families and friends that still serve these divinities as their own god even till this contemporary age.

To my own belief, Wrath is not for the natural phenomenon but it is for the supernaturals

Humans express anger and not wrath.

This story is very long to write and it comes in differs ways and I only write according to my own knowledge. Read books for better understanding of ancient gods of Yoruba
