Happy Caturday: rainy day means no running in the garden.

The weather has been very unusual lately. It has been raining everyday of the week which made daytime much cooler and the evening quite pleasant. But this wet weather has made it impossible to get on with gardening work. The soil became too soggy and muddy, in some areas it’s very slippery. My orange cats seemed to stay close to the house. I couldn’t get them to have walks with me in the banana grove.

Orange cats seemed to sleep longer during the day as the sky was grey and cloudy. It’s very funny that they knew when to wake up for lunch and dinner. Both cats put on weight very quickly iwithin two days of just sleeping a lot. I had to chase them around the ground floor to get some exercise. But they ktended to eat more often throughout the Iday. The food bowls always had some dry cat food so that stray cats who dropped by would have some food.

There’s new behaviours among orange cats. They looked more matured and much bigger while both have become more talkative. It’s quite usual for Kwan to meow for attention and to follow me around the house like a puppy. To my surprise, Joan has become very talkative. He wouldn’t normally meow for attention. But he has started to initiate a conversation by talking to me in his language. He also started to follow me around and asked me to massage his back.

Both cats seemed to be more attached to me and following me around like puppies. I almost had an accident as cats were in my way. They responded to me when I gave them a lecture on the need to lose some weights and to reduce food intake. I tried to take their photos while sitting down nicely but as soon as they saw me approaching they would get up and walked towards me. This show of affection was very warming but I was afraid they would be too attached to me.

Kwan always meowed and expressed her emotion for almost ten minutes when she saw me after my absence. She was a very affectionate and emotional personality, she still groomed her brother everyday. Sometimes she would jump on my bed to sit quietly until I woke up. During the past two days, Joan has started to ask me for that special wet food toppings on dry knjfood. I tried to cut down their food intake but Joan requested for that special treat.

I was surprised by Joan’s expression of his feelings. He even came to sit by my side and put his shin on me. That was quite out of his usual cool and aloof behaviour. He always tried to look cool and unconcerned about emotions. Joan seemed to have changed a lot. Luckily the two cats seem to be emotionally dependent on each other and Kwan just adored her brother. Joan would express his annoyance towards Kwan from time to time. I tried to intervene and stop Joan from bullying Kwan.

I think Joan could be a bit jealous of my attention for Kwan. I just hope that both fat orange cats would always be affectionate towards each other and that I would be able to look after them and keep them healthy and happy for many years.
