Happy Caturday: very nice to have two orange cats around the house.

in Proof of Brainlast month

The bigger orange cat, Joan, came back to visit us again. Kwan was very happy to have her big brother to keep her company twice in a week. My gardener told me that our neighbour went on a holiday for several days so there was no one to feed the cat. Joan has to come to have some food and company at our house. I was glad that he could make his journey safely. The other neighbours often let their big European dogs outside several times during the day. Luckily they were used to me and wouldn’t attack me but they would go after cats at high speed. So we had to close the small gate on the garden all the time.

The other day I heard a loud thud in the sitting room. Kwan seemed to have a fighting dream and she just fell off the table. I heard her gave out a tiny cry for help. I rushed to see if she was alright. She looked very startled as if she was totally puzzled by how she could have fallen off the table. I wished I had seen how Kwan twisted and turned on her sleep; she shouldn’t have been able to fall off the table. I picked her up and put her back on her bed. She continued to sleep for a few more hours.

A white stray cat seemed to be dropping by the house in the night to have some food in the downstairs kitchen. He left his mark on the floor and on the stairs. During one night, I heard my cats on the railing, they were frightened by the white stray cat and took refuge on the staircase. I had to chase the aggressive stray cat away. It’s rather surprising that Joan wouldn’t put up a noisy defense as he used to behave against other stray cats in the past. I told my two cats to put up a noisy shouting match to frighten the aggressive cat away. He came three nights in a row so I had to take random walk in the garden to thwart his attempts to sneak into the house. It would be nice if he could understand my words so that he would quietly eat the cat food and leave in peace.

To my dismay, I thought that the white stray cat took a revenge on me by leaving puddles of urine around the stairs and downstairs. But, later on I found out that Kwan’s tail was all wet. It took me some investigation to discover that Kwan was leaking uncontrollably downstairs. She seemed to have some trouble or strange health issue. I was quite worried and the thought of seeing the vet was troubling me. Nowadays I just had little confidence in doctors and vets as they have proven to me that they really aimed at giving costly prescriptions.

So, I started to observe Kwan’s behaviour throughout the day and I did some research on her condition. There’s quite a lot of information on her condition. It seemed that when cats fell from height with awkward positions, they could injure their back muscles and nerves. This would impact their ability to control internal muscles as they still suffered from the shock of unexpected falling which they couldn’t quite control their bodies before landing on the ground. No wonder her facial expression changed the whole day. She looked anxious and worrisome, so I realised that she had a big shock from her fall and she still felt the trauma.

So, I gave her gentle massage on her back and comforted her that things would be alright soon. I tried to take her to the garden and walk her around to stimulate her instinct to do her toilets. Kwan just kept on sleeping during the two days after her accident. I had to put thick tissues around her bed so she wouldn’t get wet in case she leaked uncontrollably. Joan was looking indifferent towards the whole situation. I told him to keep his sister company as she was still under shock. I was anxious to help her to regain her normal self again. It was as if Kwan went on a trip and got lost; her self-confidence had a big hole.

So, I tried to stay close to her and gave her gentle reassurance and massages through out the second day. I did pray a lot for her speedy healing process. I took her into the garden to sniff around bushes and I dug holes for her. Luckily she could still eat as usual and she has no fever nor pain in her body. I couldn’t observe her during the night. The two cats liked to spend the night in the front yard and garden. They seemed to be guarding the house for me.

On the third day, I continued to give Kwan gentle massage on her back and I did some acupressure on her back. Her face looked more cheerful and she seemed more active. She didn’t leak inside the house during the night, but I saw a small puddle on the staircase. I hoped she would regain her confidence and self-composure so that she would feel she was in control once again. In the evening, I took her for a walk around the garden to stimulate her bowel movements. I was very surprised to see her started digging and making a posture to relieve herself. I had to use my torch to see whether she could function properly. I was so glad to see her in full control of her bowel movements again.

Kwan looked more alert and lively than before. It took her quite a while to push her muscles to finish the job completely. That was a relief and I was glad I didn’t have to depend on the vet. So it took Kwan three days to recover from her injury to the back. Cats could be quite resilient sometimes. I did pray some more and gave thanks to my guardians for looking after my sick cat. The guardians did heal a big open wound for Joan two years ago. His wound was closed and dried up within one day so he could use his paw and leg again. He even saw those who were healing him as he looked at them over my shoulders for quite some time.

I was very grateful to all the kind guardians who helped looking after my cats and everyone on the house for me. I knew tough times would arrive sometime next year as global events started to really heat up. We still had some time to make contingency planning and take some precautions. Still, I continue to pray for some protection and guidance so that I could take right actions at the right time.

Wishing you peace, good health and prosperity.

Stay strong and cheerful.

The poor kitty. I agree about doctors. You would have paid a lot of money and they would not give the treatment with the care and love that you gave. It's always stressful for cats to go to a vet and sometimes the stress can make it worse.

I'm glad she's better!

So glad to hear from you! Hope the situation is still okay over there. So much havocs around the world. I have to be still and let go of worldly noices.

Yeah. I was very glad Kwan recovered within two to three days. I think the massage on her back helped releasing the tension. Cats couldn’t tell us when there’s something wrong with them.
A monk at the temple asked to save the life of a very sick cat. He saw how I cured two very sick cats in the yard a few months ago. I gave them some medicine and prayed for them!

I have a bad shoulder. Could you pray for me? Thai cats are fortunate to have you care😊

Oh! Don’t over work! Take it easy for a while. I would certainly pray for your speedy healing.

I had to make an extra trip to the temple to see how the sick cat was doing. He still couldn’t eat or drink. So, I had to give him some medicine and force a little water into his mouth. He looked very skinny and still had lung infection, a bad flu! He’s in a bad way but he looked better than yesterday.

Hopefully the monk would take him to see the vet if he didn’t get better soon.

Have a nice day!

That is good. Better than yesterday is something.

You could do a deal with your neighbour. Tell them to stop feeding Joan so he stays with you, and in return, your neighbour can feed the stray white cat. 🙂
