Come walk with me as we travel through the many paintings π
---Start This Journey Here---
I awoke with a jolt and I breathed in warmth. Black zigzagging lines bowed over me and there was a soft glow and thousand dots of light behind them. I closed my eyes again. Where was I? What had just happened? The cold and snow still lingered on my skin and that darkness that had been so much darker than the night sky above me. Who had been this unearthly man with those gaping eyes unfilled? It was a dream, but it felt just as real as me lying here now on what felt like straw. My eyes opened again. I had to be sure that it had been a dream.
On the horizon a patch of light ever so dim grew brighter with each passing breath. It was one of those magical elements of nature in which the whole universe itself unfolded and one could just simply look in silence at its beauty. Layers of colors stacked upon each other were slowly but steadily reaching towards the zenith of the sky dome. Their intensity, while unnoticeable to the human eye, increased ever so slightly and bathed the world in colors.
I do not know how long I sat here, but when I decided to get up it was well into the morning and the birds had sung their morning songs.
I found Annie's nice sitting impatiently at a table overlooking a canal with beautiful water lilies and long bushels of reed growing beside a small deck that was built above it. She analyzed me thoroughly and then said, "You're quite the owl I suppose! It's almost time for second breakfast and you haven't even had your first!" With a slight frown she then continued, "We're having mom's delicious apple pie, care to join us?" she asked curiously. I was somewhat surprised by her candidness, but then smiled and answered, "Yes, please, I would be delighted!" And after a quick pause I added, "Is it always that you greet foreigners with such hospitality?" To which she replied, "Well, now that I think about it, you're definitely an exception! But then again, we don't normally get a lot of visitors here."
I sat down somewhat hesitantly at the table and had a good look around. There was the family's estate close by with its beautiful gardens and big trees as well as a smaller cottage near a river. Here on the deck we were floating above the water which moved slowly downstream and I could make out dragonflies, butterflies as well as many water skimmers next to the lilies. In front of me in the distance I then saw Annie exiting the house and she walked towards us with a smile.
Wow what a lovely painting...
yes, it's from Renoir
Very nice
thank you!
Beautiful writing and painting. I am going to try a few of these with some Tom Thomson paintings I have. He also paints the best clouds ...
We were out on Canoe Lake when the wind came up. It was a little scary. Suddenly there were white caps and I could barely paddle against the current. We made it back to popcorn πΏ island where our camp site was. The wind had toppled our tent so we spent the rest of the afternoon setting it up all over again ... then we had some beer. π¨π¦
