Wherever cattle leave their 'traces' (dung), the petticoat mottlegill fungus (Panaeolus papilionaceus) appears in clusters.
The cap is blunt cone-shaped, juveniles are white, while mature mushrooms are gray to brown. The gills are black or dark gray like soot. The mushroom stems are tall and reddish except for the pale yellow juveniles.
These photos were captured near the rice fields of Saweuk village, North Aceh. This village has many interesting mushroom spots. Just wait for the rain to come, then you will find mushroom paradise there.
