Hi my friends, Good afternoon all community members, welcome and meet me again here. Back again of course in my blog post special edition of mushroom pictures and contributing or participating in the #fungifriday challenge Friday 13 December 2024.
Before that, I want to tell you a little about my problem so far, namely that I haven't actively contributed to Hive for a long time because I couldn't log in to my account, I had lost and forgotten my password for months. It's really been stressing me out all this time. But finally I was able to find my saved draft password again on Google, luckily I can now log in and can join this community again. I'm very touched because this is my latest post after not making a post for a long time. I am very sorry for losing my password key yesterday.
Well friends, this feels like new again, I feel very stiff in writing this writing. And don't forget, I also want to wish all my friends from the community a happy activity and a happy weekend, I hope you all have a nice day. The following is my contributed post for #FungiFriday by @ewkaw.
Just in this mushroom post, I will share a picture of the mushroom post, I think this is a very unique mushroom discovery, because I have never seen this type of mushroom before:
A few days ago I found this mushroom while I was in a garden. At first I was very amused when I glanced at the pile of mushrooms living on the rotten wood.
I was amused by its shape which resembled a strange animal or insect.
Friends, try to pay attention to this picture of mushrooms:
Even though I was amused and scared, I was also curious about what I found, this was the first time I had seen this type of mushroom.
I photographed or photographed several pictures of this mushroom and then I started searching on Google for what type of mushroom I found.
Based on the results of my search on Google, it turns out that this is a type of Cyathus Striatus fungus, commonly known as grooved bird's nest, is a common saprobic bird's nest fungus with a wide distribution throughout temperate regions of the world.
This fungus resembles a miniature bird's nest with many small "eggs"; The egg, or peridiole, is actually a lens-shaped body that contains spores. C. striatus can be distinguished from most other bird's nest fungi by its hairy exterior and grooved (striped) inner walls.
Although it is most commonly found growing on dead wood in open forests, it also grows on wood chip mulch in urban areas. Fruit bodies are found from summer to early winter. The color and size of this species can vary slightly, but is usually less than a centimeter wide and tall, and is gray or brown.
Another common name given to C. striatus, splash cup, refers to the method of dispersal of the spores: the sides of the cup are angled in such a way that falling water droplets can loosen the peridioles and flush them out of the cup. This particular nickname comes from the Latin stria, meaning "with fine ridges or grooves".
