I didn't seek them out; they came to me like cotton flakes... or snow? [ENG-ESP]

Greetings dear friends of @fungiFriday, welcome to my blog. This could have been another mushroom Friday without me, as I haven't posted in this community for a long time. I live in the city, nowhere near any wooded areas where I could go for a walk to find some mushrooms. What's more, the weather is dry, with no rain, but lots of sun. However, this time, without even looking for them, I found a whole family of mushrooms.

Last weekend, I went on a trip with my family to the city of Barcelona, Anzoátegui state, Venezuela. We went to the house of some relatives we hadn't seen in a long time. The house is large, but the favorite gathering place is the patio, where we all sat down to talk. Suddenly, I looked to one side of the patio and there was a log. It seemed to be a simple piece of wood, but then I noticed that it had several white spots that caught my attention. I approached it and was very happy to see that it was covered with mushrooms. I found a whole family of mushrooms. They looked like cotton balls. The place was a bit dark, so I had to move the log to take a picture and then another with my phone camera.

My family was surprised to see me outside the gathering. I heard them say, “What is Hylene doing?” Maybe they thought, “She's gone crazy,” but no, nothing like that. I found a treasure: species to publish and contribute to @ewkaw's mushroom Friday. The truth is that it was difficult to take the photographs because of the position of the trunk and the poor lighting. Some of the shots didn't turn out well, so I discarded them and kept the best ones for this post.

They looked like cotton flakes, but on other mushrooms, the white coating was so thick that it looked like the roofs of little houses covered in snow. Then I realized that there was another smaller log, and there were mushrooms on it too. I think they were the same species, only they were attached to the log, leaving only the bottom part visible.

Finding mushrooms is very special to me, especially because it's not common to see them just anywhere. Maybe that's why I love photographing them and discovering the magic of nature in them.

This is my contribution to FungiFriday by @ewkaw.

Fungi are really a cross between plants and animals. Sometimes it seems to me that they are capable of thinking 🤔
