I've been a Farming Tales player for about a month now.
Farming Tales is an NFT-based farming simulator built and developed on the WAX blockchain.
Farming Tales is not a game developed on my beloved Hive but it is still a game present on Hive because it created an account (@farmingtales), created a community (https://peakd.com/c/hive-151527/created), chose Hive to publish its Whitepaper and every week it organizes a contest to incentivize its players to publish game-related content on Hive's blockchain.

I chose to start my adventure as a farmer on Farming Tales because I saw some peculiarities and potential in the project that I summarize in the following list:

• Farming Tales uses the Unity graphics engine and offers a 3D experience to its players.
  In the panorama of blockchain-based games there are few games that have this peculiarity.
• Farming Tales has the innovative goal of linking the game's digital assets (NFTs and tokens) to real assets from real farms.

In addition to being a Farming Tales player I'm also an operator of the Cartel project of the beautiful community OneUp, a community built on the Hive blockchain, focused on blockchain games and created by @flauwy who is a great Hiver but is above all a great "volcano" of interesting ideas and projects.

As a Farming Tales player and as an operator of Oneup Cartel today I present an evaluation of Farming Tales from a purely financial point of view in order to help and give additional elements to those who have not yet started to play/invest in the Farming Tales project and intend to do so.

Financial Evaluation of Farming Tales

Any blockchain-based game is never a simple game because it allows you to purchase digital assets (tokens and Nft) that become the property of the player.
For this reason games based on blockchain are to all effects also investments and as such should always be considered by evaluating and estimating possible financial returns, evaluating risks and possible investment scenarios.

Initial Investment

Farming Tales is not a free game and in order to start playing and to collect game rewards you need to make an initial investment:

• purchase of NFT
• purchase of tokens (CBIT)

Farming Tales has two different types of tokens that have different uses and use cases:

• SEST tokens
• CBIT tokens

The SEST tokens are the tokens distributed as in-game rewards to Farming Tales players and are obtained through the Harvest operation.

SEST tokens will have more use cases in the future and the most interesting one is that they will also be the payment method to buy real goods from real farms such as honey and saffron.

The CBIT tokens are utility tokens, they are used to buy food and water which are the consumable game elements needed to perform the Harvest operation.

SEST tokens and CBIT tokens can be bought and sold from the SWAP section or the Market section of the Alcor exchange (https://wax.alcor.exchange/).

The purchase of NFTs

The first step you must complete to begin Farmer activity on Farming Tales is to purchase at least one of the following card combinations (NFTs):

• Hen + Coop
• Goose + Shelter
• Goat + Stable
• Cow + Stable
• Sheep + Stable
• Pig + Stable
• Garden
• Lumberjack
• Fishing Pier
• Hive

All Farming Tales cards are NFT and can be purchased:

• from the Market section of Farming Tales using SEST tokens (Crafting operation)
• from the Market section of AtomicHub using WAX tokens:

Before buying Farming Tales NFTs it is important to compare the different purchase prices present on AtomicHub and on the in-game Market.

This operation is made extremely easy thanks to the useful site https://ft.cryptospace.ro/ that shows the prices of all Farming Tales NFTs and the values are updated every minute.

As you can see from the following image the price difference can be very high.

Farming Tales game cards are of different types (Buildings, Animal, Plants) and have different rarity attributes (common, rare, epic, legendary).

Each card has different playing characteristics depending on its type and rarity.

Silo cards and Water Tower cards

Silo and Water Tower cards are important cards because they allow you to store food and water.
Silo and Water Tower cards of rare and epic types are not essential cards because each player has a common Silo and a Water Tower in his farm assigned by default and at 0 cost.
Silo cards and Water Tower cards of rare and epic rarity have a higher storage capacity than common cards, and since each food and water refill has a fixed cost of 5 CBIT, they allow you to reduce the cost per unit of food or water.

The Buildings Cards

Buildings cards are cards that have slots for Animals and Plants/Seeds cards.

As the rarity of a Buildings card increases, so do the number of available slots.
I choose the Buildings cards to buy according to the Cost X SLOTS ratio.

Animals cards

The choice of Animals cards is more complex because each card has different characteristics:

• price
• food consumption = cost per Harvest (in terms of CBIT tokens)
• time to perform the Harvest operation
• agricultural production = SEST token

In addition, the use of a rare or epic Silo card affects the cost per Harvest and the gain per Harvest of each Animals card.

Which combination of NFTs to buy?

To choose the best combinations of cards to buy, I built myself a table with my spreadsheet.

I've already published a similar table in a previous post of mine but I kept working on it and added some important data and calculations such as the estimated annual ROI.

I left out for the moment the legendary cards because they have too high costs and are not purchases that I recommend to those who are new players and do not have much money to invest.

Those who want to start playing Farming Tales or those who have all the slots of the building cards occupied and want to expand their farm must consider the combined purchase of:

• 1 building card
• 1 animal card
• 1 Silo card of rare or epic type (optional)

To choose the best combination of cards Building + Animal + Silo I have calculated for each combination of cards:

• the total price
• the number of Harvest per day considering a time window of 16 hours (8:00 - 24:00)
• the food consumption per Harvest
• the daily profit obtainable net of food refilling costs
• the annual profit obtainable
• the estimated daily ROI
• the estimated annual ROI
• the Breakeven Point considered as the point where the total value of rewards received (SEST) is equal to the cost incurred to purchase NFTs and food refills.

From the calculations of my table I have extrapolated the data relating to the combinations of cards that have the value of the estimated annual ROI higher and now I will show you in a more readable way 2 different combinations of cards that I selected and that in my opinion are possible cases of purchase to start with the right foot the activity of farmer on Farming Tales.

The best combinations of cards to buy

Building + Animal + Stable

Combination: Stable + Harlequin Goat + Common Silo

For those who want to start playing for less than $50, they can choose to buy just a couple of NFTs without buying the Rare Silo.
Based on the values of the WAX, CBIT and SEST tokens I collected the combination of just two cards that returned me the highest annual estimated ROI value is as follows:

Stable + Harlequin Goat

The combination of NFT Stable + Harlequin Goat has a cost of $45.43.

The gain per Harvest is 27 SEST = $0.097227.
The profit per day is 81 SEST = 0.291681$.
Estimated gain per year is 29565 SEST = $106.4636 (harvest from 8:00 - 24:00)
The annual cost to buy food is 492.75 CBIT = 33.84995$.

As you can see from the calculations in the following image:

• The Estimated Annual Profit is $72.61.
• The estimated Annual ROI is +91.59%.

Combo: Common Stable + Harlequin Goat + Rare Silo (The Best ROI)

The combination of NFTs that returned me the best annual estimated ROI value was as follows:

Common Stable + Harlequin Goat + Rare Silo

The combination of NFT Stable (Common) + Harlequin Goat + Rare Silo has a higher cost than the previous one: 60.39$

The gain per Harvest is 27 SEST = $0.097227.
Daily earnings are 81 SEST = 0.291681$.
Estimated gain per year is 29565 SEST = $106.4636 (harvest from 8:00 - 24:00)
The annual cost to buy food is 328.5 CBIT = 22.56664$.

As you can see from the calculations in the following image:

• The Estimated Annual Profit is $83.90.
• The estimated Annual ROI is +101.14%.

The difference between the two combos is the Silo card, which is of common type in the first purchase case and of rare type in the second purchase case.
In the first case of purchase the total cost is lower but so are the estimated Profit and the estimated Roi.
In the second case of purchase the purchase of the rare type Silo increases the total cost but at the same time allows to reduce the cost for the food supply and for this reason the Estimated Profit and the Annual Estimated Roi are higher.

How to create a self-sustaining farm by stacking SEST tokens and increase Profit

One way to increase profit and ROI is through stacking SEST tokens.

The combination of Common Stable + Harlequin Goat + Rare Silo cards requires a daily cost of 0.9 CBIT per day.

In the Wallet section of Farming Tales you can stacking SEST tokens obtained from farming and get CBIT tokens.
For example, with 3058 SEST tokens in stacking I get 1.64 CBIT tokens per day.

I made a simple proportion and calculated that to get 0.9 CBIT tokens per day you only need to stacking 1500 SEST tokens.

By stacking SEST tokens, you can increase your profit and make your farm self-sufficient.

Come giocatore di Farming Tales e come operatore di Oneup Cartel oggi presento una valutazione di Farming Tales dal punto di vista esclusivamente finanziario in modo da aiutare e dare elementi aggiuntivi a chi non ha iniziato ancora a giocare/investire nel progetto di Farming Tales e ha intenzione di farlo.

Valutazione Finanziaria di Farming Tales

Ogni gioco basato su blockchain non è mai un semplice gioco perchè permette di acquistare assets digitali (token e Nft) che dopo l'acquisto diventano di proprietà del giocatore.
Per questo motivo i giochi basati su blockchain sono a tutti gli effetti anche degli investimenti e come tali vanno sempre considerati valutando e stimando possibili ritorni finanziari, valutando rischi e possibili scenari di investimento.

Investimento Iniziale

Farming Tales non è un gioco gratuito e per iniziare a giocare e per raccogliere le ricompense di gioco è necessario effettuare un investimento iniziale:

• acquisto di NFT
• acquisto di token (CBIT)

Farming Tales ha due tipi diversi di token che hanno utilizzi e casi d'uso differenti:

• i token SEST
• i token CBIT

I token SEST sono i token distribuiti come ricompensa di gioco ai giocatori di Farming Tales e si ottengono tramite l'operazione di Harvest.

I token SEST avranno ulteriori casi di'uso in futuro e il più interessante è che saranno anche il metodo di pagamento per acquistare beni reali di reali fattorie come ad esempio miele e zafferano.

I token CBIT sono degli utility token, servono per acquistare cibo e acqua che sono gli elementi di gioco consumabili indispensabili per poter effettuare l'operazione di Harvest.

I token SEST e i token CBIT possono essere acquistati e venduti dalla sezione SWAP o dalla sezione Market dell'exchange Alcor (https://wax.alcor.exchange/).

L'acquisto degli NFT

Il primo passo da effettuare per iniziare l'attività di Farmer su Farming Tales è l'acquisto di almeno una delle seguenti combinazioni di carte (NFT):

• Hen + Coop
• Goose + Shelter
• Goat + Stable
• Cow + Stable
• Sheep + Stable
• Pig + Stable
• Garden
• Lumberjack
• Fishing Pier
• Hive

Tutte le carte di Farming Tales sono NFT e possono essere acquistate:

• dalla sezione Market di Farming Tales utilizzando i token SEST (operazione di Crafting)
• dalla sezione Market di AtomicHub utilizzando i token WAX:

Prima di acquistare gli NFT di Farming Tales è importante confrontare i diversi prezzi di acquisto presenti su AtomicHub e sul Market interno al gioco.

Questa operazione è resa estremamente facile dall'utile sito https://ft.cryptospace.ro/ che mostra i prezzi di tutti gli NFT di Farming Tales e i valori sono aggiornati ogni minuto.

Come puoi vedere dall'immagine seguente la differenza di prezzo può essere molto alta.

Le carte del gioco di Farming Tales sono di tipo diverso (Buildings, Animal, Plants) e hanno attributi di rarità diversi (comune, rara, epica, leggendaria).

Ogni carta ha delle caratteristiche di gioco diverse che dipendono dalla sua tipologia e dalla sua rarità.

Le Carte Silo e le carte Water Tower

Le carte Silo e le carte Water Tower sono carte importanti perchè permettono di immagazzinare cibo e acqua.

Non sono carte indispensabili perchè ogni giocatore ha un Silo comune e una Water Tower nella sua fattoria assegnate di default e a costo 0.
Le carte Silo e le carte Water Tower di rarità rara ed epica hanno una maggiore capacità di immagazzinamento rispetto alle carte comuni e poichè ogni ricarica di cibo e di acqua ha un costo fisso di 5 CBIT permettono di ridurre il costo per unità di cibo o di acqua.

Le Carte Buildings

Le carte di tipo Buildings sono le carte che hanno slot per ospitare le carte Animals e le carte Piante/Seed

Con l'aumentare della rarità di una carta di tipo Buildings aumentano anche gli Slot disponibili.
Io nella scelta delle carte Buildings da aquistare mi sono fatto guidare dal rapporto Cost X SLOTS.

Le carte Animals

La scelta delle carte di tipo Animals è più complessa perchè ogni carta ha caratteristiche diverse:

• prezzo
• consumo di cibo = costo per Harvest (in termini di token CBIT)
• tempo per effettuare l'operazione di Harvest
• produzione agricola = token SEST

Inoltre l'utilizzo di una carta Silo di tipo Raro o Epico influenza il costo per Harvest e il guadagno per Harvest di ogni carta Animals.

Quale combinazione di NFT comprare?

Per scegliere le migliori combinazioni di carte da acquistare mi sono costruito una tabella con il mio foglio di calcolo.

Ho già pubblicato una tabella simile in un mio precedente post ma ho continuato a lavorarci sopra e ho aggiunto alcuni dati e calcoli importanti come ad esempio il ROI stimato annuale.

Ho tralasciato per il momento le carte di tipo leggendario perchè hanno costi davvero troppo alti e non sono acquisti che consiglio a chi è un nuovo giocatore e non ha molti soldi da investire.

Chi vuole iniziare a giocare su Farming Tales oppure chi ha tutti gli slot delle carte di tipo buildings occupati e vuole ampliare la sua fattoria deve valutare l'acquisto combinato di:

• 1 carta building
• 1 carta animal
• 1 carta Silo di tipo rara o epica (opzionale)

Per scegliere la migliore combinazione di carte Building + Animal + Silo ho calcolato per ogni combinazione di carte:

• il prezzo totale
• il numero di Harvest per giorno considerando una finestra temporale di 16 ore (8:00 - 24:00)
• il consumo di cibo per Harvest
• il profitto giornaliero ottenibile al netto dei costi di ricarica del cibo
• il profitto annuale ottenibile
• il ROI stimato giornaliero
• il ROI stimato annuale
• il Punto di Pareggio considerato come il punto in cui il valore totale delle ricompense ricevute (SEST) è uguale al costo sostenuto per acquistare gli NFT e le ricariche di cibo.

Dai calcoli della mia tabella ho estrapolato i dati relativi alle combinazioni di carte che hanno il valore del ROI stimato annuale maggiore e adesso ti mostrerò in un modo più leggibile 3 diverse combinazioni di carte che ho selezionato e che secondo me sono possibili casi di acquisto per iniziare con il piede giusto l'attività di farmer su Farming Tales.

Le migliori combinazioni di carte da acquistare (Building + Animal + Stable)

Combo: Stable + Harlequin Goat + Common Silo

Per chi vuole iniziare a giocare spendendo meno di 50$ può scegliere di acquistare solo una coppia di NFT senza acquistare il Silo di tipo Raro.

In base ai valori dei token WAX, CBIT e SEST che ho raccolto la combinazione di sole due carte che mi ha restituito il valore del ROI stimato annuale più alto è stata la seguente:

Stable + Harlequin Goat

La combinazione di NFT Stable + Harlequin Goat ha un costo di 45.43$

Il guadagno per Harvest è di 27 SEST = 0.097227$
Il guadagno giornaliero è di 81 SEST = 0.291681$

La combinazione di NFT che mi ha restituito il valore del ROI stimato annuale migliore è stata la seguente:

Come puoi vedere dai calcoli presenti nell'immagine seguente:

• il Profitto Annuale Stimato è di 83.90$
• Il ROI annuale stimato è di +101.14%

La differenza tra le due combo è la carta Silo, di tipo comune nel primo caso di acquisto e di tipo raro nel secondo caso di acquisto..
Nel primo caso di acquisto il costo totale è inferiore ma lo sono anche il Profitto stimato e il Roi stimato.
Nel secondo caso di acquisto l'acquisto del Silo di tipo raro fa aumentare il costo totale ma allo stesso tempo permette di ridurre il costo per l'approvvigionamento di cibo e per questo motivo il Profitto stimato e il Roi stimato annuale sono maggiori.

Come creare una fattoria autosufficiente con lo stacking dei token SEST e aumentare il Profitto

Un modo per far aumentare il profitto e il ROI è tramite lo stacking dei token SEST.

La combinazione di carte Common Stable + Harlequin Goat + Rare Silo necessita di un costo giornaliero di 0.9 CBIT al giorno.

Nella sezione Wallet di Farming Tales è possibile mettere in stacking i token SEST ottenuti dalla produzione agricola e ottenere token CBIT.
Io ad esempio con 3058 token SEST in stacking ottengo 1.64 token CBIT al giorno.

Ho fatto una semplice proporzione e ho calcolato che per ottenere 0.9 token CBIT al giorno è sufficiente mettere in staking 1500 token SEST.

Mettendo i token SEST in stacking è possibile aumentare il profitto e rendere la propria fattoria autosufficiente.
