Bolt Drivers And Their Extorting Ways | My Experience

Ride-hailing drivers are sometimes one of the funniest being on earth especially when it come been cunning and if you falling into their hand, it will take grace to escape, I'm not a fan whenever it comes to leaving my room, anything that pass short distance that bike or keke napep will take, I always find excuse not to go and I really don't like danfo because of the way they usually pack people inside. This is actually one reason why people do opt for ride hailing car like uber or bolt but somehow their price is always higher than public transport and that is because they always calculate 4 people fee together and I get to understand when I joined the business but before then, I use to complain silently anytime I get to take one but somehow I had the worst experience with the worst driver one day.

A Female friend of mine came to Lagos on a visit from Adamawa and she was like I should visit since we haven't seen each other for months but she said that because she knew I don't leave my room, after giving it a thought, I said ok since I know I will use that opportunity to see some part of Lagos and also stretch my legs, took a bolt driver that day and the man didn't give me any issue till we reach our destination even though he try to chat with me but I use earpiece and pretending I was watching movie so he kept quiet, I paid and we call it a day. Now returning home was the main issue after I have seen my friend, I had to check the map first because in Lagos, anything from 4pm till 6-7pm is holdup time, some part on the map I saw the usual red color but it wasn't that long and my journey home was suppose to be an hour so I book another bolt driver but this time around it was a guy which I didn't have issues with at first because he won't talk that much since I'm not a lady and on the app the fee was there but I put my mind to it since I know it won't pass 3k which was the same price I took it in the morning

The guy started the ride and I just minimize the app as usual, we got to the hold up section and unknowingly to me, this guy somehow cancel the ride from his side which also cancel the ride from my side and he was like I should check my app to see how much bolt said I will pay but we aren't in my destination (i said within me), I check and found out the booking stuff isn't there anymore, I told him I can't find it and he started the victim card, why did I close the order, I said I didn't and he was like if I can't find the order, there is no way he can know how much I need to pay, I was like "Ahh". The next thing, he said, I can drop here (in the traffic) and pay 3k or he will take me to my location using map for 5k. he got me at that point, play 2 odd on me and won because I can't get down from the car to start trekking to a bus stop to pick a bus home and no bolt driver will want to turn up when it will show there is hold up in my location, I just agree to his demand and he told me home.

The day I decided to engage in bold business was the day I figure out he played me, on the driver app, there is no way you won't see the price range of a ride before you accept the ride and after reaching the location, you will see the exact price to collect from the passenger, I just smile that day, he should have just ask for money and I will give him instead of using the cunning method.
