It's been a rocky month doing so many things. The workshop took two commissions in one week. The writing courses came to an end. Yesterday, I taught my last class in the poetry workshop of this year. It seems that taking the executive decision of getting back in the teaching wagon was the turn of the screw needed to get some things in the right place in my life. Earlier last night I found one of my students that came to say hi and apologize for missing the last two classes. She also sent completed all her assignments. So no problem there.
In other departments, it's been already 9 months since @octocel and I started dating. Very soon it will be 10 and in November we'll get to the anniversary. It seems like we started dating yesterday. But are not exactly dating but in a relationship, so it is different.
So since we spent the day of the month in my place watching a movie and eating chocolate, I could not miss the chance of taking her out when the chance came. The day was a Tuesday of last week after I had taken part of an interview of the editorial house that got my first book published. After waiting for her work meeting to finished, we went back to her place to get her things back in the apartment. Then we went to the Arab food place nearby. It is a cozy place and the best part is the A/C. The sun was scorching hot that day.
We found some respite and also and also had some really good shawarma and fries. Staying there for some time was the best decision after eating so much. The best part was getting some of the leftovers. You know how it is. You girlfriend leaves some food, you eat it. That is what a man does.
And any good date needs something else. That something else is definitely coffee if the sun is still up. And we went for some Americanos after taking the usual window surfing walk and talking about many things. There is not much to add. There is work. There is time to spend with some amazing people. There is the experience of teaching and building.
And overall, there is good coffee to accompany me all the way!
