My advice to anyone, anywhere on HIVE:

  1. Focus on creating quality content.
  2. Honestly engage with other content creators
  3. Converse with those who reply to your posts

Success is slow, but if you build a strong foundation, you will also build a better community around yourself in due time.

This. I happily manually curate and have since the beginning. I also happily upvote newbies who are finding their feet here, even if their early attempts are not "high quality," I'm more about genuine interaction so even if their posts are short or whatever if it's real I'm for it. But as soon as people are like "WHY AREN'T I GETTING THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS" I'm out. I'm sorry y'all but where did you read that you were guaranteed a get rich quick scheme? Did you see a trending post get a couple hundred and thought your sh*tposts would get that too? Did you realize that trending post is from a witness who does a lot for the community, or someone who's been here for five years, or someone who posted something really amazing and isn't just what every post gets? My Gods, take a look around besides filtering for the most upvoted posts and try and find some communities you like and interact with them. Then you can be pleasantly surprised when you get a nicely-upvoted post. I've been here for 4 1/2 years and I'm still excited when I get one, because I know it's not guaranteed!!

Quite right. Newcomers probably won't be polished writers. We're all in an ongoing learning process, but those who are genuine at the core and willing to work toward technical improvement by practicing will be far more likely to find success in the long run. And it isn't a get-rich-quick guarantee. I could probably earn more if I chased hot topics, but I am content with my hodge-podge potpourri of just sharing what interests me.

exactly so. communication is the key, and creating a lot of ties and a friendly environment is the most important thing... perhaps even more important, than the content... well, maybe. not sure which one is more important, hehe. -- !BEER

I totally agree, easy ways do not exist in Hive, if you want good results you need great efforts, success is not easy.

No, success comes from great effort and consistency.
An incubated community does not mean that it's a place to present mediocre posts and receive big votes.
I have community members who presented and continue to do so with effort and pride from the early days before the community was incubated.
Let passion and care shine through, and rewards will be merited then:)

You're right, this hit the spot.

Thank you! That was my aim:)

Great advice; Well Said 👍
@jacobtothe Have a lovely day:)

Hey @jacobtothe, here is a little bit of BEER from @qwerrie for you. Enjoy it!

Do you want to win SOME BEER together with your friends and draw the BEERKING.

Although it sounds harsh, it is necessary to say it because somehow the quality can be lost and this can become a steemit.

Thanks Mily for remembering this, I will keep it in mind whenever I post in this community.

Yes, I agree it's not "nice news"...
However, it's more disheartening to know that members have the nerve to message me or other community leaders, curators, and MODs, to say that they deserve votes.
Expectancy is never good, especially when it outweighs effort and quality.
Wishing you a lovely day ☕️

Well, this is normal when you come from a social networking 2.0 mentality.

But thanks to these rules, I hope it will greatly improve the way users interact.

I also wish you a great day.

Thank you:)

People actually hit you up in discord asking for votes? Unbelievable. Some people have no self-respect. I would actually give them a vote....

Have a great weekend and don't let the hassle you get as a community leader spoil your enjoyment!

Yeah, I find it unbelievable and think that it is disgusting! I hate beggars in general, so they really do themselves a disservice if you ask me.
Haha! No, it would take a lot to steal my joy, but I like things in black and white, so it's best state it clearly.
Thanks for stopping by:)

Why should ask for a Vote? Better to do “ The Best” in creating content. good in presenting photos, story telling and useful information for those who reader.
Be consistent and keep trying.
Value will follow and Vote Will come.

Good job for those assertiveness🔥

Have a lovely weekend!

I love that you take a strong action with "muting" them 😃 good job Milly!

The sad thing is that when you get a message with such an inquiry, the first thing you do is go and check the post to see if you really missed something great. Then you see the shite!
In that case, I think a mute is most deserving:)

the first thing you do is go and check the post to see if you really missed something great. Then you see the shite!

agree. perhaps with one slight correction - judging by the author, one may even skip the extra check, cause most authors have their level, posting habits, which is often the same (unless they decide to steal someone else's stuff)

In that case, I think a mute is most deserving

well, this is questionable, my opinion would not be the same, I prefer to keep M-button for plagiarists and abusers, not for the idiots, prefer to explain and spend time on them (at least once, not over and over again). after explanations did not work - ignore option is left. but of course the danger of littering the community with spam posts so that the good ones get lost and not noticed is very real, it is. in this case, you have to use "mute" a lot, if you want the community to be pleasant place to enter and spend time. heh..

Hi, qwerrie,

judging by the author, one may even skip the extra check, cause most authors have their level, posting habits, which are often the same

Hmmm, you are right!!

Yeah, I'm not "mute happy", and normally reserve that action for non-community-related posts, plagiarism, or non-adhering to specific community rules. However, generally, an encounter of any kind with a beggar irks me, so I just have to nip it in the bud.😏

very well said!!!

Thanks:)
It's a shame it needs to be said though 😏

Thank you for always reminding us, keep the spirit and be patient.

Have a lovely weekend:)

I just asked a friend to translate the images for me because I don't read English and since they are in images I couldn't use my usual translator, but I was very interested in finding out about the new news.

It is understandable the inconvenience, it is not good to ask for votes by private and if many times the things done with laziness or without desire bring few or no results, when I am tired, without spirit, in a bad mood or I don't feel like doing anything because I know it will be worse.

I'm happy that you got this translated, and that you understood what's happening in the community:)

Unfortunately, this was a recent problem that needed to be addressed and made known that such practice is unacceptable... The culprit knows himself.

Authors need to realise that hassling MODs, curators, community leaders, or whales for votes is equivalent to suicide self-sabotaging; It's not the way to progress on the blockchain.

Btw, your posts are always presented so clearly, that it's easy to forget that you don't speak English:)

It is good to make this type of publications and it is not the only community, project, administrator or moderator who has complained and protested against this type of practice, I spent some time invisible when HIVE arrived, but I did not give up and I understood that one of the ways to make yourself known to others is to comment and improve a little every day.

Btw, your posts are always presented so clearly, that it's easy to forget that you don't speak English:)

I loved this part of the commentary and I am relieved to know that what I say is understood, sometimes when translating, you lose what you want to explain.

That's very true.
Nice gif.

I think this community is great and I don't approve of asking for votes in private on your discord, we should concentrate on doing a great job and that's it.

Thanks for all the indications

Me parece genial esta comunidad y no apruebo pidan votos al privado de su discord, debemos es concentrarnos en hacer un gran trabajo y listo.

Gracias por todas las indicacones

Every post that's contributed to #CinnamonCupCoffee is read once, twice or three times. None is missed on my part. As this post says, do not expect. Believing that all your posts will be curated is a dumb thing to do.
