Coffee shop Blog #1: Hon Giao: mountain coffee

I was just thinking about how much I adore visiting gorgeous and excellent coffee shops. And I prefer open spaces with natural air conditioning to places with air conditioners. I am currently residing and working in the Central Highlands' hilly areas, which produce the majority of the country's coffee. Because manual roasting is prevalent in families, you can imagine the variety of distinct coffee flavors. Part of my profession also allows me to travel more, so whenever I'm in a new country, I try to discover locations that are unique and a little fascinating.

This business is located near Bidoup National Forest, along a tiny creek running from the ravines. Its name is the same as the brook that runs alongside Hon Giao. It also prioritizes natural space, proximity to nature, privacy, and a clear separation between tables (especially close to the stream bank). This site is an unusual rest stop in this thinly populated area because it is positioned immediately at the foot of Khanh Le Route, a 29km long pass over gorgeous mountains.

One of my companions is a coffee connoisseur. He purchased a small and portable mixing gear. Ground coffee, an electronic scale, a little gas stove for boiling water, and an ingenious filter are all included. You can't drink coffee outside because it's too hot. He claims to be accustomed to brewing his own coffee.

He buys his favorite coffee, boils it, and brews it through the other filter, using just the purest water and no sugar or milk. He'll combine the ground coffee and hot water in a filter bag made of aluminum foil. The sheet of paper acts as a barrier to small powder residues. Each drop of water passes through a series of small holes in the aluminum filter. Each drop of coffee will pass through a variety of tiny holes in the aluminum filter and into the cup below.

It's incredibly bold and bitter, according to his own formula. It's a strong drink with a dark tint to drinking; perhaps I'm not used to it without milk. In exchange, it has a strong aroma of roasted coffee beans and contains no other ingredients. He claims that the more coffee we consume on a daily basis, the more we desire a stronger, more fragrant flavor. Simply put, we need to limit the sweetness and select high-quality coffee.

This shop has a lot of plants and bonsai, therefore it's a big room. Customers will appreciate a space that has been meticulously planted and cared for. Because of the trees, I believe the air is cleaner. It also included some man-made elements to offer variety to the surrounding environment.

A hand-dug well and antique water collection gear, for example, an aquarium, a pigeon nest, and stone carvings of crocodiles, King Kong, and elephants obtained from the stream. It's for photography and kid's entertainment.
