Framed photos on the walls of a cafe. It seems there’s a kettle and a woman preparing hot beverages for several people (based on the number of cups). We can see another woman tasting or having some kind of hot beverage.
Hi fellow hivers and members of CinnamonCupCoffee. In this post, I’m sharing with you, some wall photos, a snowy day in Kobe, two cans of coffee and some containers for hot beverages.
This week, Kobe and other areas of Japan have been much colder than usual. We experienced heavy snowfall. It was about ten years since such an occurrence. People were excited though there were delays in transportation. I stepped outside to view and take photos of the snow. I had gloves but thought I’d take a few shots before putting them on. Hmm…good idea, bad idea?
Snow in Kobe. This amount is very rare. It hardly ever settles.
Coffee from the Vending Machine
Soon , my hands got so cold, I had to stop taking photos. I put the gloves on but there was no difference. Too late…? As I hurried to get back inside, I saw a vending machine in a little park. I thought it made sense to get a warm can of coffee.
My intention was to get just one but I had to get two as at first, I mistakenly bought a cold one. Hastily, I dropped it in my bag. My hands were almost numb. I was hardly able to put the coins in the machine. Having to insert some a second time, was really a task. When I finally got the right one, I was grateful for the warm can itself and later on, for the coffee. I moved it from palm to palm. My fingers were able to again move freely. There was such great relief. I was able to enjoy being outdoor a bit longer. At that moment in time, I wasn’t thirsty, I didn’t need a drink. I just needed warmth. By the time I got back inside, the coffee had to be re-heated. That’s when I actually got the chance to have a proper look at the cans.
Coffee from the vending machine. 😆I didn’t see that monster until I got inside. Apparently it’s from the ONE PIECE anime.
Containers for Hot Beverages
About a week ago, before this very cold weather, I went looking around at a mall and department store. I saw some interesting posters and some lovely containers. The shapes, patterns, the types of ceramic, the colors, the grip, the hold…they can all add to a lovely tea or coffee experience. Some items were on sale. There was a good variety of cups and teapots. Quite a few of the cups had cats on them. I found that to be interesting. Though they were cute, I’d probably prefer cups with some dog designs. How about you? What would be your preference, cat designs or dog designs?

Coffee and a selection of sweets (poster at a department store).
Teacups without handles and with lids
Teapots
Be it a can, a cup, a teapot, be it cultural, traditional or modern, be it fancy or simple, animal designed or otherwise, containers help us to enjoy our beverages.
Thank you for reading my post. Have a great weekend. 😃
I turn to coffee on cold snowy days like those.
The crockery is interesting, especially the ones with the different breeds of cats:)
😀Thank you. Yes, I found them interesting. Learned about some breeds. Lol!
Lovely ceramics (and the cover photos ofc). Please share more japanese ceramics, = it is stunning. 🙏
😃Thank you @qwerrie. I love the ceramics too. Apart from the functionality, it’s like beautiful art. I’ll try to share more.
When I see them at stores, I spend a long time looking at the variety. The “hold” of some of them seems perfect, good grip and sizes. Thank you for stopping by. Have a lovely weekend. 🎶
