Review of "Flor de Arauca" coffee

In my previous publication I was telling you about "La Protectora" coffee, one of the best known brands in my country. It is my wife's favorite coffee, every time we go to the supermarket she does not hesitate to go directly to the place where she sees the colorful packaging of "La Protectora".

In that publication, my friend @carisma77 left me a comment where she mentioned the benefits of a coffee that I did not know. That comment made me curious and I decided to give it a try. That is why this publication is directed to the coffee recommended by my friend, the coffee "Flor de Arauca".

The first thing that caught my attention is the amount of information provided on the packaging, which is not frequent in other brands that I have tried. The people of "Flor de Arauca" seem to be more interested in educating the consumer public, or perhaps their offer is aimed at more knowledgeable people.

The coffee is produced in the "Estado Portuguesa", towards the center west of Venezuela, it is an area with a great coffee growing tradition, in the vicinity there are branches of the Andean mountains where they have the adequate altitude for the production of coffee of excellent quality.

From the information provided on the packaging I was finally able to find out that most of the coffee produced in my country is of the type called Arabica.

In general there are two main types of coffee: There is the Robusta, which is characterized for having a higher concentration of caffeine, with a much more intense and bitter flavor. There is also the Arabica, which is much milder, and with subtle touches of fruity flavors, perhaps the most demanded type of coffee.

On the packaging we are also told that out of the four grades established for roasting coffee, this is roasted at grade number three, intense roasting. This makes its flavor a little stronger than those roasted in soft or medium grade.

To evaluate the coffee I did the same tests as the previous time. I used the same measure as always, the ones that come with the cans of infant milk. This time we put in the coffee pot two cups of water with two measures of coffee.

From the moment the water began to heat up, the aroma of coffee occupied the entire space of our kitchen. The truth is that it is a rich and attractive aroma.

But the best part was when we tasted it. The coffee had a very intense flavor, a little more than what we are used to. For my wife it was quite strong and she decided to reduce it a little with warm water. Later on we adjusted the formula and decided to reduce it a quarter of a measure.

With a little more than a measure and a half we obtained the intensity of flavor that we like. The conclusion of this test is that the coffee is very yielding.

In the other tests we carried out by trying the coffee without sugar and leaving it to cool in the cup, the result was also quite satisfactory. There was no change in acidity between hot and cold coffee. I remind you that this is one of the tests to know if the coffee is of good quality. If when it is cold it becomes acidic it is because the coffee is not of good quality.

In general this coffee "Flor de Arauca" was very pleasant for us. We were able to find the adequate formula to appreciate a very aromatic coffee, with a soft flavor that lingers on the palate for a long time. It is a coffee to be drunk very hot and very slowly, in order to fully appreciate its exquisite flavor.

I have no hesitation in recommending this coffee, another that has earned the "gourmet" distinction in our country. I do not know if it is easily available in all regions. In my city it can be found in almost all supermarkets. Later I will share my impressions about other brands.

Thanks for your time.

Thank you so much my dear friend.

How nice your publication! I didn't know that our coffee is Arabica type. Without being a great taster of it, I will follow your recommendations, and on the next visit to the supermarket, I will add it to the shopping cart.

Greetings, my friend.

I had been trying to figure out what our type of coffee was for some time. I'm glad the publication left you with some knowledge. Thanks for stopping by and commenting dear @janaveda . A big hug from Maracay.

I am very happy that you have tried the Flor de Arauca coffee, you have described it better than me, besides you have knowledge that I did not know about this particular coffee, something that you commented is that it is very aromatic and yes totally, many times I leave it in the kitchen and I go to the bedroom, I know that it is ready because the aroma attracts me, you can feel its aroma from a certain distance.
Thank you for this very interesting publication, I also got to know a little more about the coffee I drink every day.
Greetings @irvinc

I'm glad you liked the publication. My mother had recommended the coffee to me and with your suggestion I decided to try it. Thanks for the recommendation. A big hug from Maracay dear @carisma77 .

Arabica coffee is one of my favorites, some time ago I bought one of the brand “Osole” and the truth is very good. I have seen this brand that you review but I have not tried it. I'm going to try it, it looks pretty good.

Cheers!

That "Osole" you mention I haven't seen it around here, I'll keep an eye out for it. Thank you very much for stopping by and commenting, dear @soldierofdreams . A big hug from Maracay.

Portuguesa stands out when it comes to popular quality coffee. I've missed Flor de Arauca because they won't sell the beans, only grounded. It's commendable that they are committed to coffee culture.

I've also been curious about La Protectora ever since a friend told me it was better than Amanecer, the one that I usually have at home 😏

Caffeinated cheers ☕️

My wife also liked La Protectora better than Amanecer. I haven't seen Flor de Arauca in Granos here either. Thank you very much for stopping by and commenting dear @marlyncabrera . A big hug from Maracay.

I'm going to have to try that one, definitely 😁

Hello friend

Hahaha... You clarified today's topic for me, I saw in a café that said Arabica... And I thought, but if it's made here in Venezuela, how do they say it's from Arabia 🤭🤭🤭

I died reading you, and I discovered and unmasked my ignorance... Thanks for clarifying those two types of coffee

And I like Arabica more, softer, because of my stomach problem.

And I've actually tried this coffee and I think it's excellent and earned the credit for Gourmet 🙌🙌🙌

Thank you for sharing your experience, I thought it was great and I learned a lot 🥰🥰🥰

I'm glad I cleared up your doubt. I had a long time without knowing what the type of coffee here was and I found it in that package. Every day you learn something new, hahahaha. Thanks for stopping by and commenting dear @maleidamarcano . A big hug from Maracay.
