Two days. Two moods. Two friends. One cafe (EN)

If I miss cities and civilization, it's only because there are cafes and good coffee:)

(I remind you that from May to October I live in a remote village. I sometimes visit the city, but I don't always have the time and energy to visit a cafe).
I read my friend's @olga.maslievich posts in this community about different European cities and feel nostalgic for my hometown, Lviv. Autumn is coming, soon it will be cooler and I think I will visit cafes more often:)
Oh, my city is very changeable... Different establishments such as cafes, restaurants, mazagins changes here almost every month... Sometimes it's sad. For example, I once wrote an article here about Cafe No. 1, and recently I read that it was closed...

That is why I appreciate one "eternal" cafe called "Under the Blue Bottle". My love for this institution started back in my student days (that is, 20 years ago), as well as my friendship with Liu @lv-teacher.
She has been living in Kharkiv for many years (that is, it is the other end of our country), but due to the war, she was forced to move to Lviv. Once she was a guest, but now a refugee. One magical spring day, we decided to visit the "blue bottle", although we doubted whether it still existed.

The cafe is located in the very center of Lviv on Ruska Street, 4.
However, the entrance to it is in the back of the yard, and there is no sign on the main door of the building from the outside. Because of this, we did not immediately find him. But there is nothing surprising here, because we are going to the past! It's such magic...

On the website of the cafe, I read that this house was built in 1501.
This is impressive! And indeed, look at the vaults of this room! To preserve authenticity, the owners decided not to attach any lamps to the ceiling. It's always semi-dark in this cafe, and candles at every table add to the romance.

Everything here is harmonious. The interior, music and even recipes convey the atmosphere of the 19th century. In the years 1772-1918, this city, like all of Western Ukraine, belonged to the Austrian Empire. Old people with nostalgia remember this time (there is an expression "grandmother Austria"). Ukrainians lived a little easier here than our brothers under the rule of the Russian Empire!
For some reason, people loved Emperor Franz Joseph I very much, there is a sculpture of him in the sideboard. And some old maps and posters hang on the walls.

That day, my friend and I ordered coffee with fire! I remember how I was once fascinated by the way this drink was prepared...
A little rum or cognac is poured into the bottom and lit, and after a few seconds, coffee brewed in a dzeve is poured over it. Coffee also has lemon or orange peel, cinnamon, coriander, and maybe something else. It is very tasty! It would be interesting to try to prepare this yourself. The main thing is not to set fire to something else around you....

My city hides beautiful sculptures from the dangers associated with the war (which has been going on for more than six months).

And recently, already in August, we went here with my mother @uliana61.
To be honest, I wanted to take a few more photos to write this article. But for a cool photo session, you need more powerful equipment, preferably a camera with a tripod or i-phone:)))
It was hot that day. A familiar yard was calling me, although I found this place again not immediately, but with the help of a Google map!

It's amazing how many times I've been here, but every time I pay attention to new details of the interior. An old clock, an engraved imperial coat of arms, old blue chairs...

Below is a portrait of Ukrainian Yuriy Kulchytsky in a red cap, who was the victor of the Turks near Vienna in 1683. He opened Europe's first coffee shop in Vienna, which was also called "Under the Blue Bottle". It was an interesting character!!!

It was hot that day. We ordered coffee, orange juice and ice cream with fruit.
My coffee was called "almond". It included espresso, almond liqueur, whipped cream and almond flakes. Incredibly pleasant taste, the only drawback is that the drink is very little. (It was stated that 150 ml, but I suspect that there was a maximum of 100 ml). now I need to look for almond liqueur in the store:)

What do you think of such beauty? Can you guess what it is? That's right, an old stove. You throw firewood into the top door, and take the ashes from the bottom. This cafe is not afraid of the new heating season :)
