Business lounge, coffee shop & food
Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, 22. Pisa,Italy
Rarely do I dare to drink a coffee that has among its components something more than the extraction of the bean itself. Although I remember with joy that, in my teenage years, I did enjoy it very much. Living in the tropics and longing to try flavors out of the ordinary, I always looked for sweet combinations that did not carry so much caffeine.
Now it's the opposite, as time goes by and the desire to take care of yourself, one learns to enjoy the elements in their purest state. However, I am a fan of the grayscale and believe it is not necessary to always live between black and white, especially when I am on vacation, which is the best time to get creative.
And when in Italy, it's hard to resist the constant temptation that beckons you from every corner. It's hard to hold back, between the smells and the striking presentations, despite having learned over time that in this country, what seems simpler, turns out to be the tastiest.
I have to be honest because before entering this place, I passed by its terrace a couple of times thinking it would be something of a tourist trap, because of the flashy signs of embellished cafes and the proximity to the Pisa train station. But I had plenty of time even before my departure and Open Pi has a very spacious place to sit for a while with suitcases and plenty of access to charge electronic devices. It was the right place at the time.
So after visiting the nearby mural of >> Tuttomondo >> and leaving a little #Hive memorabilia quite close by. I headed back in the direction of Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II and decided to get carried away by a tempting sign promoting a Mokamisù, it couldn't sound any better to me, being someone who appreciates delicious tiramisù so much, as well as having coffee in the morning.
The space of the location is comfortable, I have already mentioned how spacious it is, but I was very surprised to discover that it is a coworking space that also has a small bookstore inside. It is a better place than the train station to spend some time while waiting for your time to leave.
The decor is very curious but subtle, without too bright colors that overwhelm it. But best of all, in addition to having super striking menus, they use origin coffee to prepare. They have on display the brand used and also some filtering methods for sale. This already made me change my mood a lot, it seemed more promising.
They work with the brand Pascucci Caffe, which despite being an industrial house, provides them with natural roasted coffee from Colombia and Guatemala, or at least that was what they had available to the customer at that moment.
The beverage menu was very extensive and they also offered a wide range of teas, infusions, and another thing that caught my attention, some local craft beers that I did not overlook, although I will talk about it in more detail at another time.
My companion decided to order an infusion because my choice seemed a bit heavy for the morning, but I thought, this was something I couldn't miss so the time didn't seem to be a relevant element, I don't usually care much about it on vacation.
It took a little while to bring our order, not too long but maybe a little longer than expected. However, the waiters were very friendly, fairly young guys who spoke fluent English and were prepared to explain each menu item in detail.
When my coffee tray arrived, I couldn't have been happier, the smell it gave off was very comforting and although I had my doubts about the quality of the tiramisu, I was already more relaxed about the coffee it came with.
What makes the Mokamissú so striking is the experience of having coffee prepared in a mini Italian coffee maker so that you can dip the pavesini cookies of the tiramisú yourself to your liking. The dessert contains the basic elements, arranged differently so that there can be a space in the middle for the coffee we add.
At the base is the mascarpone cream that was good, very very good. Although it had too much whipped cream on top for my liking, it wasn't bad, but it's not a flavor that goes so well with tiramisu for me. However, I think that the intention of including it, is to make it more like a caffè con panna than a dessert, because in the end what they are selling to you is a kind of mixture of both, but the whole, by mixing everything, was good, a very well-rounded dessert.
As for the mocha coffee that we can add on top I assure you it was quite good, not overly strong yet nice. I'm not sure which origin they served me, but after tasting some that I set aside to savor, I considered ordering it just to increase the caffeine dose for the day. However I didn't, but I was happy with the coffee they serve here.
Open PI was a very nice discovery just before leaving the city of Pisa, a highly recommended place to go when you arrive or are about to leave the city. I wanted to take a look at the bookstore inside, I was very distracted and did not notice it until the moment I left. Besides, later I found out that they hold different events and tastings in the place. I thought it was a very interesting alternative, especially for the people who live there, as they seem to constantly innovate.

Hello friend, how beautiful that whole experience is and above all to have the opportunity to visit and enjoy that cozy and great atmosphere that does not let you get carried away by the time and the products, but by tasting something new. I was very struck by the way they serve and place things so that the consumer can put them together or eat separately. Furthermore, it is a combination that is the first time I have heard it and won't it be very sweet? Or at least the coffee Add bitter sea to achieve a good combination of flavors. Look for that here in the coffee shops and see what it's like.
Hi David! That was one of my worries, that it would be too sweet, but for my peace of mind, it wasn't. The sweetest part was the whipped cream, but the rest was very balanced. In general, tiramisu is not an overly sweet dessert because of the cocoa and coffee it contains.
Besides, I never add sugar to coffee, so drinking it alone compensates for the taste of the dessert. It was very good, I was not expecting it and it was fun at the end, a different experience. Italy and its things hahaha.
Thanks for stopping by!
(eng): Dear Karelys! Thank you very much for your nice comment, you know I'm very happy when the photos are liked, it's what makes me happiest! But yes, you're right, it wasn't a trap, more like an alternative place, I was surprised and liked it a lot. Sometimes that's what happens, judging by the cover! Best regards!
(esp): ¡Querida Karelys!

The Mokamissú sounds like a dream! I'm glad you decided to ignore the time of day so you could share it with us here- I have the same mindset on vacation haha! 😄
I can understand why the decor appealed to you as well, it is wonderful to have a balance between functionality and fun that does not impose on the eyes. I enjoyed visiting this shop with you, thanks for sharing!
Hey thank you so much for your contribution! Totally a dream hahaha reading Mokamisu and resisting is very hard. Vacations are like another mood, no need to have rules xD Just make the most of the time hahaha.
I'm so glad you found the blog enjoyable and joined me in reliving this moment. 🤗
I have never been to Pisa, but seeing that coffee, I have no doubt, it makes me want to go there right now.
Best regards @ninaeatshere
It was my first time visiting the city, I was a little... like wanting more. It is very, very small. It has very few things to see, so I have plenty of time to go around tasting weird things hahaha.
Thanks for your support :)
Seeing the Gif, and then the mountain of cinnamon on top of that coffee, it's hard not to be supportive.
Best regards @ninaeatshere
It is cocoaaaaaa 🍫🤭
Cocoa?? 😄

(eng): Yeih, cafeterias of this style usually have a wide range of options, sometimes too many and you can't make up your mind. Although if one goes for the sure thing, it doesn't matter the rest of the things. Best regards Manclar!
When I saw the picture with the coffee and the dessert separately I said to myself, and how do you eat it, but you have to mix them, jaja. That looks great, I would have loved it.
Hahaha it's not the most common thing to find. I actually considered not mixing the two, but the truth is that the cookies need to be soaked in the coffee. You would have enjoyed it, it was very tasty. I'm glad it caught your attention!
OMG I hadn't seen the Espresso Patronun thing hahaha I love it!
Deliciously amazing those photos, I also love tiramisu.
This cafe is a special place, Czech train with a bookstore to make our wait more enjoyable and how not to taste a delicious coffee in the process.
I'm glad you have encouraged you to know and above all that you have shared with everyone my dear @ninaeatshere
Yep! In the end I don't regret at all spending some time there relaxing, I ended up discovering a place I would definitely go back to. Thanks for the compliment on the photos!
What a great experience you share with us. A good dessert accompanied by a good coffee never fails, beautiful! 🫶🏽💕✨️
(eng): That's the attitude! enjoy coffee with a good dessert while walking around hahaha the amount of options is misleading, if you are not sure you can take a long time, at least I was sure what I wanted from the advertising I had seen outside. Thanks for dropping by!
Gracia spor pasar saludando!
Thanks so much for the support guys! :D
(eng): Hahaha the inventions of creative people xD the consumer is less and less satisfied. There is every invention out there, but truth be told, very few have disappointed me. This was certainly very good! I can imagine that someone as dessert-loving as you would enjoy it a lot. Thanks for stopping by the blog! :)
It is a very cozy place, where the person who visits them feels at ease, I liked that the space can also work for events, it also has wifi, the bookstore area, what caught my attention is that they place your tray with your cup, coffee pot and you serve yourself, in my country I have not seen it, but that is innovation, thanks for sharing these places @ninaeatshere and thus expanded my general culture.
Thanks to you for letting me know that you found the content of this blog interesting, it motivates me a lot. Honestly the space is a great place, after doing some research I am not surprised that it is a frequent place for meetings and events, it is very functional. To go to work for a while is also nice. The tray does give it a special touch hehehe those things that make you feel well cared for. Best regards!
