As always, today is an excellent day to drink coffee, like every day. So I got up very early, thinking about the first in the morning. For me this first coffee is important because it is with whom I share the day I want to have. I have the habit of grinding it before taking it. For more than a year I have bought a coffee bean grinder. It is incredible to drink a freshly ground coffee, because its flavor and aroma is different from what is already ground from the factory.

Coffee takes me back to my grandparents' house. Coffee takes me back to that time where there were only more games to discover and a story in each story.

We all know that good coffee drinkers have a favorite cup, let me tell you, I have four cups. One that I use at home in the morning, one that I have at my school job, another at my afternoon job and one where I have the last coffee of the night, at home. Each one has different properties. In the morning the coffee can be seen clearly through the transparency of the glass. This mug is much larger because it can hold, in one go, the amount of coffee I need to wake up.

In the morning I put enough coffee because I take a thermos to the office. For me it is extremely important to drink coffee when I get to work. That connects me with the hustle and bustle of the day and prepares my neurons for the events that take place at school. With this cup, regal and elegant, a gift from @marlyncabrera, my sister, I drink the coffee she prepares for me to speed up my thinking and awaken creativity, enthusiasm and work in tune with my responsibilities.

Then, when my office receives me, at noon, the first thing I do is put on the coffee maker and make that coffee that serves as a prelude to lunch. Of course, afterwards, and before starting the work routine that lasts until very close to night, I drink a well-charged negrito. The afternoon is a calmer period, without noise, where I can use the spaces more flexibly, because I work alone.

In my family, since my grandparents, we have been coffee drinkers. In all our homes we cannot miss the coffee maker or the coffee pot, the one that is not used for anything else, but to make coffee. Likewise during family gatherings, there is that space where the noise stops, the voices stop and someone asks: Who wants coffee?! Everyone raises their hand at the same time "yooooooo".

So one coffee maker is not enough, nor two, nor three... Coffee is that interlude of stillness and more intimate conversations.

And what do you think happens at night?

Well, the night is a period where all the vicissitudes of the day are already revealed. Then it remains to reflect on each of them and take notes in the notebook of the experience; It's not about doing the math. I don't do the math, I do the balance. And between each note, a sip of coffee prepares me to end the day. It is true that for some people drinking coffee at night is a guarantee of insomnia; It's not like that for me, I think my body is used to caffeine and it doesn't rob me of sleep.

When I fall asleep, I close the book on duty and before falling asleep, I think about that dawn, with the silence that accompanies it, the stillness without threats, that semi-vigilance of the early hours when you get up... and in the first Morning coffe. I know that in this ritual I am accompanied by hundreds of people who love tranquility and silent, unfinished monologues between the aroma of a cup of freshly ground and brewed coffee.

En la mañana pongo suficiente café porque me llevo a la oficina un termo. Para mí es sumamente importante tomar café cuando llego al trabajo. Luego, cuando mi oficina me recibe, a medio día, lo primero que hago es poner la cafetera y hacer ese café que sirve de antesala al almuerzo. Por supuesto, después, y antes de comenzar la rutina de trabajo que se prolonga hasta muy cerca de la noche, tomo un negrito, bien cargado. La tarde es un período más calmado, sin ruido, donde puedo disponer de los espacios en forma más flexible, porque trabajo sola.

En mi familia, desde los abuelos, somos tomadores de café. En todas nuestras casas no puede faltar la cafetera o la ollita del café, esa que no se utiliza para más nada, sino para hacer el café. Igualmente durante las reuniones familiares, está ese espacio donde cesa el ruido, las voces y alguien pregunta: ¡¿Quién quiere café?!, todos levantan la mano al mismo tiempo "yoooooo".

Entonces no es suficiente una cafetera, ni dos, ni tres… El café es ese intermedio de quietud y conversaciones más íntimas.

¿Y qué creen que pase en la noche?

Bien, la noche es un período donde ya están reveladas todas las vicisitudes del día. Entonces queda reflexionar sobre cada una de ellas y tomar nota en el cuaderno de la experiencia; no se trata de sacar cuentas. No saco cuentas, hago balances. Y entre cada apunte, un sorbo de café me prepara para poner final al día. Es cierto que para algunas personas tomar café en la noche es garantía de insomnio; no es así para mí, creo que mi organismo está acostumbrado a la cafeína y no me roba el sueño.

Cuando me voy quedando dormida, cierro el libro de turno y antes de recibir el sueño, pienso en ese amanecer, con el silencio que lo acompaña, la quietud sin amenazas, esa semivigilia de las tempranas horas al levantarte…y en el primer café de la mañana. Sé que en este ritual me acompañan cientos de personas amantes de la tranquilidad y de los silenciosos e inacabados monólogos entre el aroma de una taza de café recién molido y colado.
