Tokyon moon cafe at gems alley in Sai Gon – Vietnam.

Although I have lived in Saigon for more than 10 years, this is the first time I’ve set foot on Thai Van Lung street, going into the alley known as the Japanese Quarter in Saigon. I was very surprised because how in the world there are 2 Japanese streets in Saigon. And I am even more surprised to see the presence of a Korean cafe nestled in the Japanese neighborhood ^^.

I originally knew this place thanks to my friend, that day she brought me here to meet 3 more of her close friends. The shop has many interesting things and is quite good. I will recommend this shop to everyone, if you want to experience Korean coffee, cake, and water in the cozy Japanese atmosphere, please come here ^^.
The shop is named Tokyo Moon - simply because the Korean couple's family name is Moon, and the son in the family has 1/8 Japanese blood, so the name of the restaurant was born “ Tokyo moon”.
The area of the shop is very small, perhaps this is the smallest coffee shop that I have ever visited. The vast majority of customers visiting the shop are Japanese, Korean, Taiwanese, and a part of Vietnamese youngster. Most guests will order coffee, and a plate of cake, then enjoy, pay and leave. The restaurant is very crowded!

The interesting thing that I found at the shop was the note of the time when customers were sitting at the shop. Because the shop is so small that we have to limit the time to sit and drink water within 1.5 hours, to make room for other people. So the shop will not be suitable for those who want to sit for a long time to work or chat with friends, but it will be a suitable place for those who love to enjoy the quiet, alone space in a small corner of Saigon.

All kinds of drinks and cakes in the shop are prepared and processed by the Korean owner by herself, it has a distinct Korean style. The menu is quite diverse, from coffee, nutritious drinks to some delicious teas, all are on the menu. Of course, my body is quite weak so I can't order coffee, instead I ordered a cup of plum tea, my friend chose a nutritious apple tea. It was pretty good to drink ^^.

The shop has an employee and the owner standing at the counter. On the table, there will be a box of pencils and paper, which means that when customers order, they will write the name of drink down that paper and give it to the staff or the owner ^^ At first I was a bit confused why, but then I understood. The problem was because the owner did not know Vietnamese language, and the staff could not run the table in the traditional way of waiting and taking orders. So this is a good way, haha.

The shop is small but very cozy, the flowers are sweet, the colors are warm, every corner is perfect.

You can visit the shop to enjoy if you have the opportunity to travel to Ho Chi Minh City, and of course I will not visit the shop for the second time ^^ because I need to hold my laptop to work, and sit longer than 1.5 hours. For me, the shop is quite amazing ^^.

Hey there!

That shop looks amazing, and I would have thought the street was in Japan if you did not mention Saigon. I like the name and the origin, which makes sense. I'm not surprised about the turnover of tables, that's a very Japanese way. Great use of space, an interesting concept, and I like the decor:)
Also, what looks to be a mermaid spoon 😁
