For this week's #sublimesunday, as inspired by @c0ff33a. I wanted to share some images I took of Lake Michigan. This area is just a few miles north of downtown Chicago. Located near the Northwestern campus, the area is full of life and activity.
Yes, I was the guy walking around a beach area with a camera and a larger lens...I know, creeper alert. Still, it allowed me the opportunity to get some photos of the lake in action.
Aside from the multiple sailboats on the lake, there was also an interesting surfboard thing going on by a local lake denizen. I have no idea what the sport is; I've never seen it before in action. It looked like a lot of fun, however.
It was a beautiful day all around; I failed to put enough sunblock on but the view were worth the look. And all things considered, it was enough to want to make me move to a Great Lake. Superior will always be my favorite Great Lake, but Michigan is a close second, as I've mentioned before. There is a sense of great wonder when you stand on the shore of these epic and beautiful fresh water bodies of water.
Thanks for checking out my #sublimesunday post. The Great Lakes adventure has come to a close for the time being, but my goal is to get more shares in place this fall with the Driftless and Mississippi valley region. Leaves will be turning soon..you can smell fall in the air today.
