Luna, you are lovely, aren't you?

A sublime Sunday calls for an old writing from my archives.

The earth’s moon took away most of the universe’s beauty and kept herself in the sky 384,000 light years away us, where I, endlessly allured, can only love her from afar. And, whatever phase she is in, she’s full to me.

Oh, Luna, aren’t you lovely, when I catch you a glimpse at night outside my bedroom window?

Are you not tired of giving me light, and wisdom, and passion to continue my deepest ambitions. Would you forgive me if I give up and never talk to you again? Would you continue walking down with me on this blurry path? Or would you choose to let me go at dawn when the darkness ends?

Oh, Luna, aren’t you lovely, when you sit quietly still as I walk round and round during my wee hours?

Are you not weary looking at my somber eyes? Here lie my unimaginable thoughts – farther than the farthest star, impossible in whatever universe, strange, absurd, and ludicrous in other people’s minds. Would you still lift my soul and bring it to the heavens, where pain cannot exist, where my most agonizing memories can be suppressed in the deepest part of my body without breaking bones?

Oh Luna, aren’t you lovely, when you sing a song only I can hear

Luna, you were quiet all these days, but I heard every single word you said. You were there when I was fine and you were there when I was shattered into a thousand pieces of glass that lose its ability to reflect. You promised me a music that never dies and I listened to it while I bled. You’ve seen me in different phases and you’ve held me into your comfort – where a lifelong sorrow can cease a bit.

Oh Luna, are you there for me or are you only in my mind?

Were you ever mine?
