Our Christmas day is tomorrow, December 24, but I am working a 24-hour shift and so my family will visit me in the office and we'll have our Christmas dinner at lunchtime on Sunday. In the afternoon and evening we'll visit my wife's family and on Monday we might drive to my parents, but we are not sure yet.

On Tuesday Christmas is over and we will go back to work 😁 !LOLZ

So, tomorrow I'll have some time to go online, but on Sunday and Monday I'll mostly be offline, I believe.

    A great deal for the family to visit you at work my friend.
    Btw. Christmas day is on the 25th and maybe you guys celebrate it on Christmas eve.
    Surely you also have to see your parents during this time methinks.

    Soon the back to work story will be no more for you, so I don't know why you are moaning 🤣 !LOLZ

    They have left just before and now I have time to do my replies 😉

    You're right with Christmas day, my friend, and we celebrate on Christmas eve (Heiligabend).
    We'll visit my parents either on Monday or next weekend.

    Don't use the word "soon" when it still lasts years 🤣 !LOLZ

    If I'm not too tired when we get home I'll go online, but I'll see then.

      Great to hear. Over here Heiligabend is "Heilige nag" in Afrikaans and "Holy night" in English.
      There is a song called Holy Night that I like.
      Maybe you can see the New Year in with your parents next Sunday, as it will be the 1st of January 🙏

      Here we go again! A long time ago I told you that it will be only a few years and now, look how much closer you are. The new year will fly by exactly the same as the other years and before you know it we will be in the last year. Remember only Lady Patience 😁 !LOLZ

      They brought me a traditional Christmas food: sausage and sauerkraut - lekker 😋

      Holy Night = Stille Nacht, Heilige Nacht - one of the few traditional songs that I like a lot too.

      I know 2023 will fly and then it's time to start counting the months or even weeks 🤣

      I didn't go online till now back at work, but you might have noticed that anyway 😉 !LOLZ

        Sausage and sauerkraut are indeed very nice and I like it also with some mashed potatoes 😉

        Yep, Holy Night and also the other one, "Oh Holy Night, the lyrics start with "Holy night, the stars were brightly shining"

        Yep, and as usual counting the months very impatiently and moaning all of the way 🤣

        It's a traditional Christmas food where I have grown up and sometimes we have fried potatoes with it.

        I know the other one too, but don't know the German version of it.

        I wasn't sure, so I wanted to tell you 👉🤣 !LOLZ

          Maybe it originated as a German food during the war years, as there was not much else to eat.
          We had pap (stiff porridge) and spinach served here during the war years and it is still a favorite today.

          There should be a German version as it is a famous song. A guy wrote one of the songs on his death bed in hospital in the 18 hundreds, but I can't remember which song he wrote.

          I don't know what it is that you weren't sure about, but it doesn't sound bad 🤣 !LOLZ
