Rebuilding And Not Giving An F

Look at a that guy!

Building a nest, again, as if nothing has ever happened to make him feel frustrated about his efforts going to waste, being unappreciated, or leading him in circles...

The matter-of-fact, no-regret, no-whine, just-do-what-needs-be-done attitude is simply inhuman. Literally.

I photographed this stork in its nest last weekend. On Orthodox Easter, actually. It's near the church in my father's village. I've been observing couples of storks nesting in the area since childhood. Although, they used the tall chimney of the village's bakery. Now they are institutionalized. An artificial platform suitable for nesting has been set up on top of an electricity post, just across the street from the old bakery.

We can actually see the same nest from our own yard, too. I might have been negligent enough to skip the opportunity to take a snapshot of that case as well. It would have been a nice addition to the photo above.

Well, such is life. Some ideas occur to you when you are no longer in the field where that idea should have worked. Thinking of pieces of a series of photos as supplementing each other, blog-style, is a skill that still needs to be honed, obviously. Thinking outside the box of immediate surroundings and moments...that's yet another such skill, isn't it?

Cheers to that and...

Beautiful picture! Storks are amazing birds. They stay with one partner for a life. ♥️

Nice shot. It mustn't be easy to build a house using only the mouth... but somehow, they all do it! 😆
