Is EV Worth Buying?

For the last few years, we have seen that the trend of EV i.e. electric vehicle has started increasing a lot and many people are now preferring to choose electric vehicle instead of petrol and diesel. Nowadays electric vehicles have also started coming in the market which operate on battery instead of petrol and many features are also available in them, so are electric vehicles really environmental friendly? Let us understand this topic on the basis of some aspects. I will tell you some important facts here, according to which you have to track whether electric vehicle is really safe for the environment or more harmful.

The main fact that I would like to put in front of you is about the most important part of this electric vehicle i.e. the battery. The battery is the thing that provides power to the electric vehicle. If we see, the batteries here require lithium and this lithium is mined and extracted. Based on the research done on the internet, I came to know that the mining process of lithium is very difficult and it creates a lot of pollution. The process of extracting lithium causes pollution as well as damage to the environment.
I read somewhere that manufacturing a normal electric vehicle produces 10 to 12 metric tons of carbon dioxide, whereas manufacturing a normal diesel or petrol vehicle produces 7 to 8 metric tons of carbon dioxide.
Along with Lithium, many other chemicals are released from nature that are used in these batteries and the process of extracting these chemicals also produces a lot of pollution.

If we talk about the pollution caused by electric vehicles and petroleum diesel vehicles when they run on the road, then you will understand how much difference there is. When a petrol or diesel car runs on the road, it creates pollution. Along with this, the companies involved in the production of petrol engine oil or all the types of oil used in these conventional vehicles produce pollution in huge quantities. I read somewhere that a company which produces various types of oil for these conventional vehicles produces about 700 to 800 metric tons of carbon dioxide in a day, so you can imagine how harmful it is here.

Although the electric vehicles here do not produce any carbon dioxide while running, but if you are charging these electric vehicles on green energy, then it will be called zero carbon emission, but if the electric vehicle is being charged with some such medium in which carbon emission is taking place, then we can say that some carbon emission is taking place by this vehicle but not as much as compared to traditional vehicles.
If fossil fuels are being used to charge these batteries, then there is no green energy here because pollution is still happening.

Now if we talk about the battery of this electric vehicle again, then as the battery will provide a very good backup in the beginning, but with time the life of the battery gets reduced and a time comes when this battery is of no use. If we talk about the car manufacturer, then the battery of a normal electric vehicle has a life span of 10 to 12 years, after that if you want, you can replace the battery or buy a new car, although right now not much truth is known about this life span because electric vehicles have come here only a few years ago and when a person drives his vehicle for 10 to 12 years, only then the truth of this fact can be brought out. But it is true that after a time the life span of these batteries will end, then what will happen after that because then these batteries will be of no use and in a way they will become electrical waste.
Talking about recycling of batteries of these electric vehicles, a battery can be recycled only up to 60 to 70% and this recycling process also causes a lot of pollution which is again harmful for the environment. Along with this, if we dispose of these batteries, then it is even more harmful because there is a risk of explosion in it and if many batteries are kept together and some accident happens, then there can be a huge explosion, the result of which you all know how terrible it can be.

In the current situation, we can say that these electric vehicles are environmental friendly to some extent when they are running on the road, otherwise if we talk about the manufacturing process of these batteries and after their life span is over, then this thing really causes a lot of harm to nature.
