Hi Everyone😍, the picture that I clicked above is of Ficus religiosa, also known as sacred fig which is a fig species native to the Indian subcontinent and Indochina that belongs to the Moraceae family, also known as the fig or mulberry family.

It's also known as the Bodhi tree, the Pippala tree, the Peepul tree, the Peepal tree, the Pipal tree, and the Ashvattha tree (in India and Nepal).

The sacred fig is religiously significant in three major religions that originated on the Indian subcontinent: Hinduism, Buddhism, and Jainism. The species is sacred to Hindu and Jain ascetics, who often meditate under it. It is believed that Gautama Buddha attained enlightenment under this tree.

The sacred fig is mostly found in the state of Odisha and Haryana in India.

Interestingly, this leaf shape is also used in the designing of Bharat Ratna which is the highest civilian award of the Republic of India.
