Exams are inevitable when one enrolls into a formal type of education. This is the moment some student curse out the person that originated examination 😂. But come to think of it, how else can we be tested of the knowledge we acquire and be certain we understood it without examination, either a practical exams or theoretical ones.

We will all just study and not have a measure on how well we have learn something. There wouldn't even be the motivation or drive to study. Therefore being tested on our knowledge is a crucial part of learning and life too.

One thing I know is that exams are not difficult so far you understood the topic and the examiner is not trying to sabotage the success of the student.

Understanding the topic is important. When you understand, then reading more and assimilate more knowledge of it will be easier and be retained in ones memory.

Unlike some other type of studying called "la cram la pour". If you are a Nigerian, you should know what this means. It simply means when you cram informations word for word, not trying to understand the information, then go pour out the information by writing on your answer booklets. The moment you release the information in your booklets, there is a high chance of you forgetting all that you crammed.

If the question is twisted in some kind of way, it might be difficult for a student that has crammed to get the logic of the question. But a student that actually understands the subject will still succeed regardless of how twisted the question might be.

To answer the question of tge contest on How I doprepare for my examinations, here is how

First, I make sure I do not miss classes. Hearing the information I need from the teacher or lecturer makes the information stick to my memory. So any additional reading I do is just cementing the information.

I observed that when I miss classes I struggle more to get a grasp of the topic and if I do not read extra hard, I might not pass. So I try hard not to miss classes.

Situations have had it that I did not read a particular topic in a subject but because I was there when the topic was being taught, I was able to answer it with examples sighted during explanations and got it right.

Second, I do not go for night classes, any reading past 12am, I am done. I close those books and just go to bed. I have tried reading g through out the night when I follow my friend to night classes. Guess what, I did not assimilate anything. I was not sleepy but I just couldn't assimilate. I would read a page like five times before I could get a hold of the information there.

I can read in the morning, afternoon and evenings so far it is so late into the night like 1am or so. I assimilate better at those times. I studied myself, know what works for me and stick to it.

Third, I revise all that I might have read either with my friends or with myself. I like both. While revising with myself,i write out all the information I have grasped in papers. If diagrams are involved, I re-draw, and if it is with my friends we all set questions for ourselves to answer and both really helped me a lot.

Doing all these, gives me the confidence to write any exam because I know that I have accumulated a lot of useful informations on a subject or course.

you are right, sometimes to learn we also have to determine the time when we can easily understand what we are learning, because studying for a long time is also not a good solution because if our minds are easily out of focus of course we are not able to remember anything that has been we learn

Absolutely true. Thanks for engaging

Honestly, attending classes regularly is a way to do well in exams if not extremely, at least one wouldn't fail.
Skipping classes don't help at all.
