Security threats

There is some sort of peace one gets when there are no life threatening circumstances or security threats around, because come to think of it, people will be so scared to make plans or move forward in something, of they are unsure or cannot guaranty their safety.

Some people will even develop some ailment like high blood pressure. Here is why I said so.

Just recently, I was having a conversation with someone and she was lamenting on how she has been loosing sleep. I was like why is that happening. She continued that, they have been having robbery attacks at their vicinity.

Because that kept happening, they have to stand alert and watch over the compound they stay in. Safeguarding their lives by themselves. This has made her miss her restful night rest. She does not have that peace to have a good sleep.

Since she lacks the peace to have a goodnight sleep, she definitely will not get that sleep. The following morning, she has to go to work.

All these were piling up, until she broke down with a serious headache. When she got to the hospital jer blood pressure was checked and they discovered that her blood presshas sky rocketed.

They asked her why and she explained. So she and hee husband had to make plans on moving away from that vicinity, because it is already having a toll on their health.

At tha point of security threats, she could not think about anything else but just to be safe. She wasn't thinking about her business or whatever. You can see how security threats can affect one's progress.

I also remember during my National Youth Service Corps(NYSC),my place of primary assignment was a town in the North East.

When I got to the town, there were signs of unstable security in the town. I saw burnt down houses, abandoned banks and factories.

I asked questions and they were like, there was a big fight some time ago in the town that led to all those damages.

I thought it was a thing of the past, until another ruckus broke out again between yep different tribes in the town.

I have bern hearing bad stories on attacks, even the affected tribe that stays in my compound had to vacate the town and never came back.

Corp members of that tribe were redeployed to another state.

It was one faithful night like that, I heard, the attacking tribe were on their way to burn down houses of the opposing tribe without being bordered if people are there or not. Everybody in that area had to run for their lives in the middle of the night.

Most corp members could no longer stay at their houses. It was that serious.

Activities in the town were so reduced, even people getting married at those times don't spend more than 2 hours for their events. All club activities were also on hold for that while

I could barely sleep at night myself because if gunshots here and there.

It got to a point all corp members were told to go back to their home state or move to that state capital for a while and come back when things are all settled.

I had to go to the state capital because my home state is too far to go back to.
