Every help counts

I saw a video where a man lectured on time, value, and money. According to this video, people do not pay for time, but they pay for value. Given this theory, it's now left for the individual to figure out ways to be time efficient, which is to create more value with little time so as to earn more.

I quite resonate with this theory, and this is why I hate chores so much. When I started earning, I figured out how limiting home chores could be, especially for women in my part of the world. Basically, it is believed that regardless of how much you are earning as a woman, your place is mostly in the kitchen and in the home. Such mentality tells on the appearance of such women as they end up looking stressed and unkempt. Not to mention it also creates inequality in earnings. I have been there, so this is me speaking from experience.

The moment I figured out the value of time, even before I saw that video on time management, I tried my possible best to be evasive when it came to chores. Well, aside from cooking and nurturing, because I'm really picky with food and I do not trust a stranger with my child. The trick for me is to utilize whatever time is available to me to earn while I just pay to get the chore done.

Remember, the goal is to create more value utilizing very little time, and trust me, home chores are the most time-consuming activities there are.

One time, I was conversing with an older friend, and I was curious to know how his wife manages with home chores, given how demanding her job is. My friend said the moment they got married, he got a housekeeper for cooking and cleaning, much to the displeasure of his wife. But as they progressed with their marriage, the wife saw how efficient these housekeepers were and how easy it became for her to juggle her job and motherhood.

I understand that as African women, we've been indoctrinated that assistance in the home breeds laziness. It also gets worse when we throw in technology in the mix but I'm on team Sign me up for whatever will make life easy.

You know it's funny how 5 to 10 years ago, washing machines in homes were seen as women being lazy, but today, given the two-income system and how high the standard of living has gotten, washing machines and housekeepers are now almost a must in homes of the employed. It is worth noting that this sort of home assistance is now being utilized by both genders regardless of their marital status.

Again, Innovatively, we see the Western world transition from human labor to technology, and again, I totally understand the fear of people being put out of jobs, but if there's one thing with life, it always accommodates everyone. And as long as we are constantly improving intellectually, we will move with the trend and not get left behind.

While we have robots in workplaces, one should be considered to handle some chores in the home too. We really need these inventions to help cut down our stress level. Basically, there's just so much the human body can take, and some assistance is necessary.

But for real, I'll gladly care for my meals and my kids if the robot will be busy making sure the other chores are done.

I guess the reason why some people think having technology to make work easier for us is laziness is because we are too dependent on these technologies that we don’t want to do anything again. This will definitely affect us as things can be done minimally and without relying on it too much. The important thing about robots is to help save time while also adding values to whatever is on your plates.

I get you and we all know such a thing as robot help will not be cheap so for one to be able to afford it, they have to be earning to sustain it that way, there’s always productivity and value at play.
