Things are no longer funny in the country again, the rate at which things are expensive is nothing to write about, people who could afford to get a car in the previous year now use it for cab or Uber, and everyone is lamenting even the rich is crying in this present economy.
The major problem with transportation in my area
During this holiday period, I was supposed to travel to Lagos from Abuja but on getting to the park just to inquire about how much will cost me from Abuja to Lagos the driver told me #30,000 but on a normal day it should be around #15,000 for company buses as at last year while buses from public parks cost #8,000 or less.
I could not bother to check for the prices of the company buses online that day, if roadside transport can charge as much as that price what will the company charge? I would prefer to go with roadside transport but the price shocked me too, so I decided to check online the next day at least let me make a comparison, the company buses come with comfortability while the roadside comes with discomfort because four people will sit on a seat instead of three, so I decided to check if there is no much difference between the two.
Well to my surprise it was at least #13000 different, I do not blame any of them for the prices because fuelling our generator in this house always costs a fortune, it has been a thing my brother and I always deliberate on, no filling station in my area sells fuel because it is not available, I was coming back from church yesterday and I saw a filling station filled up and people with their cars lined to get fuel, it is not something impressive at all if people who have cars can queue for hours to get fuel now consider people with buses that are using it for public transportation.
The stress of getting fuel in my country (Nigeria) is not an easy one at all, queuing for hours just to buy fuel with your money when it is not for free can be so annoying, the price of it went up overnight without preparing our mind for it, the shock of the price too is another problem on it own.
The problem everyone is facing in the country now is the availability of fuel, people do not even consider the price anymore, though the price is so annoying it makes the youth to come out in masses and protest for days but nothing was done about it, we know that this is now our new cross but making it available for people to buy is now a problem, we no longer see the bad roads anymore just let the fuel be available.
The frustration of buying fuel at a high price makes transport fares increase, people would rather stay in the city than travel to visit, I calculated everything that I would spend for my trip and it is close to #100,000 I decided to stay in my house since my journey is just to visit my sister and her family, I had to stay back and always send my greetings online,
People are suffering in this era because of bad leaders who are leading us, since I was born it has never been worse like this, the rate at which people buy fuel now is very high that is if it is available, and people are making an effort to make ends meet but the government is not encouraging them.
In what ways do you think that this would be solved?
We do not have any other way to solve this issue except for the president to hear our cry and decide to do something about it, I wouldn't want to say this will continue till he finishes his tenure because we are all hoping for a better Nigeria, this problem can only be solved if he decides to rectify the issue of fuel and have pity on us.

Paying a lot for transportation and even for gas is a dilemma we also face here. It's getting increasingly difficult to deal with this situation.
Current cost of transportation is something we really need to talk about, transportation is becoming unaffordable.
This fuel price will not kill us on this country, it's just annoying, we being a oil producing nation and still suffering like this, what if we ain't?
The people in power need to look into this, either reduce the price, reinstate subsidy or build the refinery so we won't be exporting to refine fuel again.
It’s just really sad how you guys are always protesting and nothing ends up being done.
We are used to it
These days, someone has to calculate well before embarking on any journey. Fuel price has made travelling difficult for us in Nigeria.

The cost of transportation now is just too high , may God help us #dreemport
The cost of transportation is indeed very alarming. I once told a colleague of mine that those whose workplace is at a trekable distance to their homes are enjoying because that transportation aspect of it won't be a problem for them.
I don't even want to think of the stress I might go through when school finally resumes and we have to start running after buses in order to get to work.
I hope things get better because we really can't continue like this.
