Motivation Is Of No Use Until You Take Action

in Hive Learners2 years ago (edited)

Motivation is something that a lot of people talk about, but not very many people actually understand. We all know what it feels like to be motivated to do something, but how many of us really know what motivates us? And why does motivation sometimes lead to action and sometimes not? It is one of those terms that has been thrown around so much in conversations about success and achievement that it has lost all its meaning for most people. The truth is, however, that motivation and action are two sides of the same coin: You can have all the motivation in the world and still fail if you don't take any action. So let's break this down: What exactly is motivation? Where does it come from? And how can we use it effectively when trying to achieve our goals in life?

Motivation Is Of Little Use Until You Take Action

You can be motivated to do something, but that doesn't mean you'll actually do it. The best example I can think of is when people say they want to start a business and get rich. They set up a website and even create an Instagram page with photos of their products or services, but nothing happens because they don't actually follow through on any marketing efforts or sales channels. They're just motivated at that moment and then a few months later the motivation goes away again because they didn't take any actual steps in doing something about it!

Success Is In 'Doing'

There is a difference between doing something and not doing something. You see, when you are not taking action, you are putting off your success. When you don't do the work that needs to be done, it will never get done.

I've always been a person who loves getting things done and I believe this is one of the reasons why I've been so successful in my life as well as so happy with it. If you want to experience joy in your life, then start taking action today! Even if you fail while attempting something, you win because you took action. Most people don't even start for various reasons especially the fear of getting failed. That attitude won't get you the success you are looking for.

Talk Less & Do More

The truth is that most people are too busy talking about all of the things that they’re going to do, rather than actually doing them.

If you want to be more successful at work and in life, then you need to stop talking about your goals and start taking action on them. However, in the absence of any real actions that change your circumstances and improve your position, it makes no difference how motivated you are.

Difference Between Motivation & Action

Motivation is a feeling. Action is an action. Motivation is not enough; you have to act on it.

Motivation only exists while the emotion lasts and disappears as soon as the emotion does. It happens with me all the time. I get motivated to do a ton of stuff on Hive. Like I wanted to start @leoseo long back. But I did not take any action at the moment. That's why it's still not kicked off till date because now I am busy with other stuff I am motivated about. Action produces results that last longer than just one fleeting moment of motivation and those results will always be more valuable than any temporary feeling of excitement or desire for change could ever be!

Lack Of Action Leads To Demotivation

You're feeling motivated. You've read some quotes, watched a few videos, and talked to your friends about it. You know what you want to do with your life, but there is still that problem of actually doing it.

You're not alone: millions of people feel the same way every day! But here's the thing...no matter how much motivation you have now or in the future, if you don't act on it right now then none of it will matter!

Motivation isn't enough - you need action too! That's because motivation is not a substitute for action. It's like a car without gas—just as useless. The only thing that will get you moving is to put one foot in front of the other and start walking.

Getting started is often the hardest part because you're afraid of failure or rejection or whatever else might happen if you try something new and don't succeed right away. But one day soon (when it gets dark), your lack of action will become painfully clear. You'll realize that despite all your plans and desires and wishes, nothing has changed since last week or last month, or year!

Conclusion

And so, my advice to you is this: stop waiting for motivation to come and knock on your door. Instead, take action! No matter what kind of goals or dreams you have in life, it’s only through taking action that you will ever be able to achieve them. So get out there and do something about it!

I totally agree and relate to you on this. Feels like you’re speaking to me lol.
A lot of times I feel motivated without actually doing anything and then end up getting demotivated. I now see reasons to why it keeps happening.

Thank you for sharing, i find this really helpful.
