Life's Twists & Turns.

in Hive Learners4 days ago

Life is full of unexpected twists and turns, and by now, I believe that many of us have had a fair experience of life's unpredictable nature, and one thing I observed is how those experiences leave a long-lasting impact on us while also forcing us to question some of our presumed notions or biases about life. These events just happen within a short time, and it leaves us with so many unanswered questions because we were never expecting or prepared for whatever happened.

Until a few years ago, I actually believed that humans were predictable, probably because of my little experience in life. It's easy to tell that the rich only want to mingle with the rich, people only help when they know there is something in it for them, people don't care about the effects of their actions on others as far as they are comfortable, and so on, but I was wrong.

I really didn't understand how unpredictable life can be, but after trying to understand, life still left me so many unexpected events.

One of such events is receiving kindness from a complete stranger. I know there are really kind people out there, but the situation of the world has made people hide that kind part of them away from the world. They didn't stop being kind but just decided to withdraw a bit.

It happened that I lost my job a few years ago and was brokenhearted. There were so many things I already planned for myself, plus I had so many responsibilities. For days, I was devastated thinking about what next to do because getting another job won't be easy.

I was new on a platform called Uptrennd back then, so to get rid of the sad feeling, I decided to pour out my mind in a post. It actually took more than a day to write because I got emotional at different points while writing. I published the post and was consoled by many members of the platform in the comment section.

Some hours after posting, I got a message from Tigerlily that led me to her DM on Discord. To cut a long story short, she asked about my monthly expenses, and after giving her a breakdown, she sent me some money that left me stunned for minutes. I couldn't comprehend why she chose to help me, and that was the beginning of the great impact she had on my life and that of the people around me.

Honestly, my life changed even spiritually after meeting her, and I always tell the people I have shared my journey with that I can't thank her enough for everything.

Another instance is being disappointed by someone I never expected such from. I have shared a story of a friend I sacrificed so much while in the polytechnic and how it almost cost me so many things.

We went out separate ways after school but still communicated from time to time. During that time when I was job hunting, his brother in the ministry got some slots for a temporary job and put my friend in charge of hiring after hiring him. He shared the good news with me, and I was really happy about it.

He asked for my CV, promising me a position, and I was actually happy helping back then. Weeks passed and I heard nothing from him. I kept calling but couldn't reach him. He contacted me two months later, saying he forgot to include my CV bla bla bla, and I was shocked.

"You forgot to include me?" I couldn't stop thinking about that statement, but that's life; it's unpredictable.

I didn't get mad at him because of that and just zeroed my mind about getting any form of help from him. We still communicate, but it's just on a neutral level.

These experiences changed my assumption about humans being predictable, I became someone who expects nothing and everything humans are capable of doing at the same time because life is multifaceted, we can experience the good or bad side unexpectedly. Regardless of what happens, life continues and we just have to keep pushing through.

Imagine where help came from, a post.
That's how God works.
I have also learnt not to expect anything from anyone ever again.

God works in mysterious ways and it's important that we don't put our expectations in humans...

Mist people forget who helped them in the time of need and when tables turn, they act like such people don't exist. That is human being for you, that is why it is unhealthy to have expectations of people.

That's a common thing among humans, we easily forget our benefactors once we become comfortable.. it's a terrible thing and honestly, seeing people doing such doesn't surprise me anymore. 😂

It doesn't surprise me too, it is just humans "being" humans.

Such is life, sometimes help comes from the least expected place.

That's right and that's why we shouldn't put hope on people around us only, help can come from anywhere when the time is right.

What a beautiful soul you came across George. She us truly amazing 😻.

And reading your publications I strongly believe that things happen for a reason so that we can see how God works through miracles.

We are in a world 🌍 where we don’t know the next happenings of our being.

Thanks for sharing with us. Love ❤️

I believe the same as well... God knows about everything but we are always in too much haste and miss out on what he originally planned for us.

Exactly. If only we can slow down a bit.

Happy weekend to you and your loved ones George 🥰❤️
