Reasons why Hive is a better place

Hello Hivers! If you are new to hive or you have been on hive but have been less active, this is a must read for you.

It's nothing but factual that the niche to which lots of social media platforms are operating on today, were the ideas that were invented in the web 3 blockchain system. The very definition which is now expressed as "monetisation", that is found in various social media platforms such as Facebook, X(formally known as Twitter), Instagram, and even ticktok, was the primary foundation that almost all web 3 systems were built on.

Web 3 blockchain system such as Hive has been rewarding all its active and faithful contributors since the time of its inventory, and it has happened that no matter how hard these other social platforms have tried to maintain their system, the authenticity and originality in web 3 and Hive especially cannot be over emphasized.

Hive as a case study; It's something worth a thought that the model created for the sustainability of Hive has somehow projected a more secured and safe space for its subscribers and creators. I have been an ardent user of all these social media platforms and I am also a recent user of Hive, and I can clearly testify to the difference that exists between Hive and these social media systems. Some concepts that are explored and upheld differently which makes Hive unique include.

  1. Plagiarism.
  2. Curation process.
  3. AI generated content.
  4. Security system.

Plagiarism
Hive as a web 3 blockchain system has a strong discipline against plagiarism. It tries extremely best to foster originality in contents that must be displayed in the blockchain system. The graphics, pictures and even words of writings used or posted on Hive are completely through the various creativity of the creators and when taken from elsewhere, duly citation and provision of links must be made. These measures are not met on Facebook or Instagram. People could copy posts and download pictures that don't belong to them and create contents with it. Hive here is a bold art towards encouraging creativity and innovation.

Curation process
The curation process on Hive is completely fair and just. A good content that follows the guidelines and rules of the community will be curated regardless. The curators have no specific preferential treatment given to some because everyone is seen as equal on Hive. Curators use the medium of curation to encourage people to participate more and become more creative and punctual in Hiving. However on social media, it's not the same. Social media has a preferential norm that is used to reward its creators. They use the system of 'virality' meaning that your content must go viral and be noticed by a large system of individuals. In extreme cases, they don't care about the originality and quality of the content, so far as it has gone viral, that's the only time they deem it fit for rewards. This is why not everyone gets rewarded on social media while on Hive, everyone has the equal chance to be rewarded.

AI generated contents
So many contents on social media are completely generated by artificial intelligence. They are not a product of those who post them and claim to have created them. On Hive, AI generated contents are mostly not acceptable, this is because human thoughtfulness and creativity is what is needed for an equitable social ecosystem. Taking contents for artificial intelligence and claiming them to be yours can also be classified as plagiarism. But furthermore, it doesn't encourage the creative niche in humans. The originality in writing is what makes the writings something worth reading.

Security system
There was a friend of mine who has a huge followership on Facebook, he had built an account of about 247,000+ followers. One day, she created some content and posted, then went to bed. The following morning he woke up to check the progress of his content and discovered that his account had been taken down. It was taken down without warning or any heads up. The only reason Facebook gave was because so many users reported his account. This type of porous security system is not said or heard of Hive. Hive security systems scrutinize before they take action. It's not necessarily about public victimisation on your account but a proper investigation done on the reported content to determine the truth.
